Very true. That doesn't speak to banning those of a specific religion. The phrase "class of alien" will have to pass a legal test, and seriously... do you think the courts as they are in this country will allow that to pass?
What part of stop all immigration for any reason don’t yo get?

I can’t wait to see Trump take on the federal judiciary from the bully pulpit. I don’t know what he thinks about the Liberty Amendments [one thing I like about Cruz], but he will certainly support a bold change in the judiciary after he experiences judicial wickeness while in the White House.
Trump hates to lose. He’ll even consider sending a bulldozer toward the court house!
You do realize he will have a phone and a pen right?

It’s really a very interesting Constitutional question.
On the one hand, using any kind of religious test would seem to violate the First Amendment. I think Anthony Kennedy could easily be persuaded, and the four Dhims on the SCOTUS are sure votes from the git-go.
But on the other hand, who would have standing to bring suit in a Federal court? Some alien who is outside the USA? No way, IMHO. And I can’t think of anybody else.
So if you can conjure up a plausible plaintiff, I’m all ears!
