The legislation is proposed and won’t pass if we have Republican legislators who have the gonads to squash it.

Any legislation that specifically names a single religion as “protected” and doesn’t afford the SAME protection to other religions is on its face, patently unconstitutional.

It violates the very dictates of the establishment clause. The proposed law establishes a protected religion (thereby effectively creating an OFFICIALLY SANCTIONED national religion).

My first act as a representative (if I were) if this abortion made it out of committee to the floor would be to force an amendment that adds ALL religions, specifically naming Christianity first. Then see what the Democrats do.

Ah, but they don't dare afford Christians the same protections they want for Muslims. If they do, then they can no longer force Christians to bake cakes for gays, subsidize abortions, etc.

I mean, it's not like 'rats aren't above a little (or a lot of) hypocrisy... I think they're just trying to head it off a little earlier here.
