In a cashless society when the Internet is down no one has any money. What could go wrong?
As the article mentions, a cashless economy allows every transaction to be tracked. Again, what could go wrong?
In a cashless society whoever controls the Internet controls your money. Finally, what could possibly go wrong?
And “yes” there is money under my mattress.

This is exactly what the military coup did in Margaret Atwood's book "The Handmaid's Tale." They created a digital currency where all transactions were via a debit card, then would lock down the accounts of certain segments (in this case, women). The book came out in the 80s, before debit cards. I remember at first refusing to use my debit card for a long time.
Of course, in Atwood's novel, the villain was a hardcore conservative Christian. As they say in Libville, "Because reasons."

If I had hit the Powerball lottery last week (yeah, right), my first move would have been to take 5 million out in cash. Half would have been used to buy gold while the rest would be buried in an ammo can somewhere on my property.
If the feds don’t like it, tough shit.

A devaluation of the ‘worth’ of value deemed units is inevitable. Quantitative easing won’t require a printing press and the only thing of value will be a skill. Money will be what it’s always been, stored up labor, nothing else.

Abolish the local currency, and the black market will be happy to operate in dollars or euros. The Norwegian banksters are idiots if they really think this will work so that they can take a cut on every transaction.

Electronic money means you can be financially wiped out with the click of a mouse. What a great way to keep the untermench under the thumb.

So then people will move to bitcoins, but only after it has been gamed by the very people that are currently committing financial crimes and engaging in money laundering.
And people will suffer as their bitcoins go up and down in value on a daily basis due to speculation and computer algorithms.
Yay for us!
