The largest bank in Norway has called for the country to stop using cash, the Local reported Friday. This comes as the latest move in a country that has been leading the global charge toward electronic money in recent years, with several banks already not offering cash in their branch offices and some industries seeking to cut back on paper currency.
DNB, the bank with the proposal, has said eliminating the use of cash would cut down on black market sales and crimes such as money laundering.
"Today, there is approximately 50 billion kroner in circulation and [the country's central bank] Norges Bank can only account for 40 percent of its use. That means that 60 percent of money usage is outside of any control. We believe that is due to under-the-table money and laundering," Trond Bentestuen, a DNB executive, told Norwegian website VG, the Local reported.
"There are so many dangers and disadvantages associated with cash, we have concluded that it should be phased out," he added.

I hear you.
It’s much easier to devalue money in the bank. Just take it away.
Another case for gold and/or Bitcoin.
Now let me see. Where did I out that “mark of the beast”? I think I’m going to need it...
In a cashless society when the Internet is down no one has any money. What could go wrong?
As the article mentions, a cashless economy allows every transaction to be tracked. Again, what could go wrong?
In a cashless society whoever controls the Internet controls your money. Finally, what could possibly go wrong?
And “yes” there is money under my mattress.
Of course, in Atwood's novel, the villain was a hardcore conservative Christian. As they say in Libville, "Because reasons."
If I had hit the Powerball lottery last week (yeah, right), my first move would have been to take 5 million out in cash. Half would have been used to buy gold while the rest would be buried in an ammo can somewhere on my property.
If the feds don’t like it, tough shit.

Correct! Exactly as intended.
Once cash is ended, it won’t be your money anymore.
Millions I am sure. Many will think it is great. Many will accept it at bayonet point. Many will accept the mark of the beast, because they want to eat, not realizing it will be an eternal death sentence.
We know it's coming, however, because God said it would.
Revelation/Mark of the Beast ping
I recall hearing about that book, I am going to have to find a copy to read...
A devaluation of the ‘worth’ of value deemed units is inevitable. Quantitative easing won’t require a printing press and the only thing of value will be a skill. Money will be what it’s always been, stored up labor, nothing else.
Millions already do today. What I find shocking is the timeline is less than 10 years away. If Revelations timetable is accurate and the Mark occurs about half way through tribulations...
Look up...your redemption draws nigh.
Abolish the local currency, and the black market will be happy to operate in dollars or euros. The Norwegian banksters are idiots if they really think this will work so that they can take a cut on every transaction.
Affirmative sir. I hate to see everything go to hell in a handbasket, but we know Bible prophecy.
Many of them you can spot easily .... they wander around looking down at their phones .... they ones they live and die by!
The Book of Revelation chapter 13 comes to mind.
Many years ago back in college having in-depth conversations with friends I was laughed at for suggesting that at some point in the future we would only use numbers to buy and sell globally, I said I didn’t know how it would happen, but that it was coming and of course I was just referring to what we’re shown in the book of Revelation and Daniel,
I was not predicting anything myself, just reading the clear text meaning of what we’re told and knowing knowledge would have to increase and somehow the necessary mechanisms would have to be put into place in advance to accomplish it, certainly using computers for some sort of global economic accounting and controls. This was long before the internet, which I recognized its future use toward this end the first time I ever heard of it,
All these years later watching it slowly take shape (and yes we could still have many years or even decades remaining) its Gods timing not satans on when this will be allowed to proceed.
I would caution also that its very clear that it is ‘He’ that causes all to ‘receive’ the mark in the forehead or in the right hand, meaning that when it does come, there will not be years or decades remaining before the time of the end, that it will come immediately and its in those same days when God will bring Satan’s kingdom to a close over this earth legally,
One of the more curious aspects to me of those taking the mark, is that they appear to have made a permanent conscious decision and officially decided their fate from that point forward. Which leads me to suspect that however or whatever manner it does arrive on the scene that even unbelievers will not find it to be wholly unrecognizable for what it really is, 666
“I have told you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe.” John 14:29
“And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.” Luke 21:28
Today, I can go into Starbucks and use my IPhone and Apple Pay to make purchases with my thumb print. In fact, I did so this very morning.
Technologically, we are beyond being very close to the mark of the beast. We are within a hair's breadth.
Just a few months ago, I was having a conversation with a friend who is a financial advisor. I told him that the world was heading towards a One World Currency. He told me I was crazy. "Never happen, ever."
Some people rely on what they know, or what they think they know. Their comfort zone is too comfortable to leave.
