Billionaire Donald J. Trump, an early presidential favorite among tea party activists, has a highly unusual history of political contributions for a prospective Republican candidate: He has given most of his money to the other side.
The real estate mogul and âCelebrity Apprenticeâ host has made more than $1.3 million in donations over the years to candidates nationwide, with 54 percent of the money going to Democrats, according to a Washington Post analysis of state and federal disclosure records.
Trump’s NRO detractors show Democratic favoritism....
Reminder - Donald Trump’s 2016 NRO Critics Were President Obama’s 2009 Fan-Boys....

95% of Trump’s life shows “Democratic favoritism”
That’s simply a lie.
But I get it. You are voting on emotion and need to be led.
I am a free man, however.
I don’t need a master.
His words show it too.
Soon a bunch of unhinged FReepers will be here telling you how your post makes them want to vote for Trump even more!
;-)
Maybe you’re the one needing to be led....astray.
Many of these “contributions” are not based on ideological foundations. Rather, it is a way of buying the potential troublemakers off before they cause YOU trouble, sort of protection money, because face it, many of the operations in New York City are of such nature that palms have to be greased, or opinions have to be won over, before some project may proceed. Cost of doing business.
Life in the big city.
And if there seems to be a preponderance of Democrats on the payoff list, well, there are just a lot more Democrat officeholders in New York City than there are Republicans.
Not at all the way they do things in Chicago. < /sarcasm >
I’m not saying it makes me want to vote for him more but I will say he had to deal with Democrats more considering it was NY City.
Makes sense doesn’t it?
So what?
Are you really going to try to tell us there’s a big difference between the R and D parties?
Oh, yeah. I'm sure there are ways to also explain donations to Al Sharpton, Harry Reid, Rahm Emmanuel, etc, etc, etc.
Real estate mogul primarily in New York and New Jersey.....and he donated to Democrats....well, thats a shocker.
So, Trump’s defense to the millions he gave Democrats is it was all bribes?
Very ethical!
eeeh â not even going to bother reading this other than the headline. This is more hubbub from some of the supporters of Cruz. Do not care anymore to waste time with this, just going to do what I can to get Trump a victory over either Hillary (who may not get the nomination, actually) or Bernie (who may get it, he is at least an open socialist and not a kleptocrat like Hillary).
I mean, back when it was the bit gig between Obama and Hillary, I gave money to Hillary also. I mean, I knew and warned the danger of the Afro Centrist Obama and his bias for Islam and et all, and saw him as such a problem, a danger, I gave Hillary probably about $200 dollars in that nomination cycle. Simply because my gut was, we had to take down Obama and that Hillary would actually be easier to beat. Also, even if she fades, keep her going long enough to perhaps but a bit of gray on Obama in the General.
So what? You know, there is a âin playâ part of donations that has a role. I know some do not have the money to engage in these rancid things, it does not change reality. My donation did not mean I am not true or whatever lame attack would be laid on me if my truism was based on such nonsense. If I can, I will do my part, I understand others due to the crappy economy and failed Democratic policies cannot afford to make ANY donation, even some of these Cruz supporters who are actually making things worse for Cruz cannot afford and I do not blame them or look down that they cannot donate to Cruz or anybody else.
Do you really want to go there? I mean, just watch what can be found out about Cruz. And more or less does not mean much. Actually, some of you have no idea where the real stuff went, it isnât just money. It is like getting a gun. One day, if the Dems have their way, you may have to get a gun by giving money to a bad character. But then you have the gun. And then you have some tool that could save your life or the life of your family. You just broke the law, yes? Sometimes giving money, gives you back a tool that you can use against the bad guys in a better, bigger way. But some of you do not understand that. Maybe that is why you might be suffering. Start to build your own dynasty and figure out what is reality.
As Ted Cruz rightly points out, it really doesn’t matter whether it was environment or greed or both that made him do it. Donald Trump is not the solution, he is part of the problem.
Interesting - didn’t notice the date.
Wonder what his donations look like from 2011 to 2015? You know, the most current ones...
Maybe he got tired of forking all that money over to the government and decided he needed to clean it up instead. :)
“Real estate mogul primarily in New York and New Jersey.....and he donated to Democrats....well, thats a shocker.”
True. And it appears the payolla worked when the corrupt politicians he bought used eminent domain to try to steal a widow’s house for his casino’s limo overflow parking lot.
That’s some fine conservatism at work there -— rich guy stealing widow’s home for his limos.
Trump’s really for the little guy!
Your post is very emotional.
