Contrary to what Trump would like to have us believe, he is not an entrepreneur in the traditional sense. He was born extremely wealthy. He has led a life of privilege. His business dealings have a universal theme: they involve huge banks lending Trump money after big government has cleared the way for him. Last weekend I pointed out Trump's fetish for eminent domain. (I was not the first, my colleague, Jay Caruso made similar observations back in October.) Not for public works but because Donald Trump has a greater need for your property than you do.
As Caleb and Leon have pointed out, Trump is in hock right up to the eyebrows to the biggest of the government sheltered "too big to fail" banks and financial institutions. His endorsement of Big Corn's obscene Renewable Fuel Standard -- something that only benefits huge agribusiness and hurts anyone who owns a car or buys meat -- and his endorsement by the King Crony Capitalist in Iowa, Governor Terry Branstad, all point to his big government + big business impulses.
Now Ted Cruz has an ad pointing out Trump's willingness to use the force of government to take what he wants:

Total b/s.
Good. This looks like a Democrat ad that Hillary will run in the general. Let’s see if Trump can stand the heat and beat Cruz.
What happened? just dozen same anti Trump article till now.
Cruz campaign is not paying people $5 per hour.
Good job!
And thought Ted pinky-swore he would never do negative campaigning.
WOW! Just recently Ted said he wasn’t going to do anything like this. Wasn’t Ted Cruz for the Keystone XL Pipeline? Did Ted think that could have been built without eminent domain?
I find it interesting that it is the Cruz campaign releasing this ad; not a Super PAC.
Cruz, man of Goldman Sachs and a CFR wife.....the real patriot.
See how that works?
Why do you post this shit all day long?
Can't say, Ted's never built anything in his life before.
You raise a good point.
What Trump is advocating is not eminent domain. He’s advocating the worst sort of crony capitalism, the Third World type of capitalism, where the powerful get what they want and the rest of us get nothing.
Most people don’t even know what “crony capitalism” means. It REALLY means political corruption. “Crony capitalism” is basically an expression that favors Leftist ideas and implies there’s something wrong with capitalism. There’s nothing wrong with the profit motive of capitalism (EVERYBODY endeavors to profit in whatever they do (duh)) but EVERYTHING wrong with unconstitutional federal governmental using our money to meddle in free enterprise and commerce for government and governmental officials’ own self-aggrandizement.
It is GOVERNMENT self interest or so often wrongly called “greed” although here “greed” is accurate, not corporate self interest, that is the core issue of political corruption.
Cruz and others continue to confuse free enterprise which seeks profits and growth which in turn absolutely grows the economy, with political corruption and growth of government, what absolutely shrinks the economy and creates scarcity.
Vote Trump.
And what about the wall? Maybe Trump should run his own ad.
So the Keystone XL Pipeline is crony capitalism? Why did Ted Cruz support it?
Can’t say, Ted’s never built anything in his life before.
Great response!!
