Trump: “Let’s get to be a little establishment. We’ve got to get things done folks, OK?”

He's not going to get fully pregnant, just a little bit pregnant. What's the harm in that?

"I think they're warming up. I want to be honest, I have received so many phone calls from people that you would call establishment, from people -- generally speaking ... conservatives, Republicans -- that want to come onto our team," Trump told reporters in Las Vegas before an appearance at the Outdoor Sportsman Awards...

At an earlier rally, Trump painted himself as a pragmatic dealmaker capable of working with lawmakers, in contrast with Cruz, his top rival in the Feb. 1 Iowa caucuses...

"You know what? There's a point at which: Let's get to be a little establishment," Trump told the crowd at the South Point resort and casino. "We've got to get things done folks, OK? Believe me, don't worry. We're going to make such great deals."

A fine soundbite for a general election candidate, which I think is the point of him talking like this. He's not puffing either when he says that establishmentarians are cozying up to him. They are, and some of them aren't shy about admitting their preference for him over Cruz.

I can see the "buyers remorse" from here.

And look forward to the "I Told You So's" sure to follow in the next 4 years...

“You’ll see a lot of debate on whether Trump is a true conservative or not. That is argument by definition. It is the linguistic equivalent of throwing your gun at a monster because the clip is empty.”

**We can work on rehabilitation after.**

Cruz has my vote in the primary, with Trump getting my vote if he makes it to the general.

I’m worried at what he’s saying here and would like to believe you have the missing piece, the unsaid part.

The reality is, I’ve heard the we’ll-work-on-it-after-we’ve-won scenario too many times to count.

And when it’s over and done, we’re always the ones getting clobbered with rehabilitation.

Trump is going to destroy the GOPe and overhaul Washington DC by going a little establishment.

I'm sure his sister will make a fine Supreme Court Justice.

Is Trump a McConnell-Rove Establishment Tool?

the answer is yes.

I can give you 3 reason why, that happened just this week.

1) He supports the Ethanol subsidies, thereby supporting big government.

2) Cruz called out McConnell for lying, which McConnell did.
Trump sided with McConnell, saying he had to make deals with Congress, just like the Establishment wants him to do.

3) He said “Cruz would be worse than Hillary”, proving that he thinks higher of Bengazi-email-scandal-ridden-big-government Hillary Clinton than he does Ted Cruz.

Trump is becoming a louder version of Lindsay Graham-John McCain right before our very eyes.

It only took a week.

I am afraid this is the biggest rope-a-dope scheme I have every seen. I always thought conservatives thought with their brains not emotions....not this election.

There are lot a knobs that a president can turn that have the same effect as money, including the bureaucratic (or executive order )control of land rights, import-export policy, etc.

A classic example is the Obamunist's use of EPA pollution guidelines to drive down the value of coal mine property, thus allowing bundlers such as George Soros to come in and buy up the properties, and/or mining rights at intentionally suppressed prices.

If a petulant man-child , such as as Hussein Obama, can learn how to do this, I'm sure that Trump, or any other expericienced businessman can do the same.

We could use a few Larry McDonald’s these days, he was a rock solid conservative that could have kept this country from going off the cliff. Ted Cruz has to swim upstream against the current every single day of his life with little help from the so called conservatives that squander what little freedoms we have left.

If any of us were stupid enough to want a “ comprehensive immigration deal” we would have voted for Lindsey Ghaham or Jeb Bush...

Why on Earth would Trump want to imitate the total losers of this race?

I always thought it was the Russians that took him out because of his anti communist stance at the time. Was it worse than I thought?

As you might remember, days ago I was still defending Trump. Most of my posts have been sympathetic to Trump over Cruz. Not anymore.

Welcome to the real world.

“Imagine waking up two years from now with President Trump reverted to his true, liberal self, and realizing that we had a chance to put a real anti-GOPe president into office, but didn't. “

And conservatives who don't support it when he compromises principals away; will be the enemy.

We have heard this song before by Romney and his friends; just a different singer this time.

One thing about the whole "Art of the Deal" aspect of a Trump candidacy - Trump supporters seem to think he will be able to deal with Congress the way he deals with businesses.

They also don't realized that he is negotiating with them--his voters--and he intends to be on the upside of the "deal".
