How come they don’t say that the elderly widow challenged Trump in court and won?

So Trump’s defense to trying to steal an old lady’s house for a casino parking lot is he lost in court?

Um, OK.

I don’t know if you cann it a WIN. Woman was originally offered $1 million for the property. She refused. Casino Commission took her to court. She ultimately settled by was only awarded $250K.

How come they don't say he offered her a million and a half...

Her son took control. She went to live with him.

He decided it was worth 5 mil. That didn't work out. And IIRC, the good old son sold it at auction...at a loss after all the bills were paid.

P.S. They had pictures of the inside....It was a dump...a slum house.

Exactly. Trump only tried to use eminent domain twice and both times courts rejected it. In the case of the Elderly widow’s property, Trump had offered her more than twice what it was appraised at, and the widow refused.

And it’s not like Trump can even initiate eminent domain at all. A city council has to do that. All Trump can do is present a development plan to the city.

I actually find it rather dishonest of Cruz to be attacking in this manner.

Ted was a far second choice because of his lack of economic understanding relative to Trump and his support of Corker and TPP.

But if he continues to show dishonesty, he is quickly becoming unacceptable as a candidate. I think he has surrounded himself with people known for attack style campaigns because being Mr. nice guy wasn’t working. But those people are leading Crus to dishonest ads and if they can do that in a campaign, wait until he is in office.

If that is true then, while I will vote for Cruz if nominated, it is a strike against him imo.

Ted, I’m sorry, but this is not going to end well.

I suggest you rid yourself of the baggage around you, ie Glenn Beck, Levin...and move on.

YOu just crapped in your nest.

The ad is petty, and chicken bleep and the kinda thing you’d expect from Glenn Beck.

I predict you’ll be probably 3rd place in Iowa, and as you know you’ve given everyone the notion that you are the favorite to win.

Trump did not seize the property. The widow sued and won. Then she later sold the property for about half what Trump offered her. This ad is not very truthful.

Good for her but why did she have to go to court against Trump, to keep her home, huh?

Sure doesn't sound like the Donald Trump I see on TV!

The ad says Trump colluded with others to use eminent domain to bulldoze the lady’s house to make room for a parking lot for his Casino.

In fact Trump did try to use eminent domain so that he could bulldoze the lady’s house for his parking lot.

The fact that the lady challenged Trump in court and won is a good thing but not relevant. What is relevant is that Trump believes in using eminent domain to sieze private property for his own private business interests.

Trump tries to equate his Casino parking lot with interstate highways and railroads. That is what is really dishonest in all this.
