In or about 1990 or 1992, a friend of mine, State Senator Tom Scott, was running for Congress in Connecticut's Third Congressional District centered on New Haven and other hideously liberal locations. Tom was the most relaibly conservative Congressional candidate that has stood for office since the 1950s.
His opponent was one Rosa DeLauro, STILL to Greater New Haven's shame, a member of Congress and a leadership factotum in the Demonrat Treasonweasel Caucus in the House. She was and is married to Stanley Greenberg, the very accomplished Demonrat pollster. She is his second wife. The original Mrs. Greenberg was quite offended by the husband divorcing her to marry Rosa and even more offended at references in DeLauro's campaign literature and photos of Stanley, Rosa and "the children" as though they were "the children of superannuated childless Rosa rather than of their actual mother.
Jack Kemp came to New Haven to campaign for Tom Scott and speak at a fundraiser at a Downtown New Haven nightclub. When he referenced "Ms. DeLauro" as the radical she was and is, a wiseacre in the back of the room shouted: That's Mrs. Greenberg. Whatever the intended significance of that remark, Kemp put down his prepared text, faced the anonymous fellow who made the remark and told him: "This is America where we are all proud of our names and if you don't accept that, you can leave." I was there and I believe that Kemp knew nothing about the original Mrs. Greenberg but thought that the wisecrack was anti-Semitic and he wanted nothing to do with anti-Semites and good for him. He was a man who should have been POTUS but was simply too fine and admirable a man for the despicable whores who run the GOP.
Whatever, if the shoe fits, wear it and be ashamed of yourself. If it does not fit, then I apologize in advance. His actual name is Rafael Edward (Ted) Cruz. What of it?
