Rafael Cruz Jr., is his legal name. He’s from Canada. He’s a Cuban citizen according to the Cuban Constitution.
Our courts have long since ruled that American citizens need not submit legal actions as to automobile injuries occurring in Saudi Arabian courts because that country does not maintain anything legally cognizable as due process of law. By analogy, I don't think that Castro's Devil's Island of Cuba is any more civilized than our sometime ally Saudi Arabia. If anything, rather less so.
And you are not answering the import of my point. Rosa DeLauro thinks that her birth name DeLauro should be her name in public life (apparently because her father, a gangster named Eddie DeLauro (now very long dead) and her mother Luisa DeLauro, served for nearly sixty years as Aldermen, Luisa succeeding Eddie when he died, from the traditional nice Italian American Wooster Square neighborhood in New Haven, and the Congressional District is heavily Italian American. If Ted wishes to be known as Ted, that is also his name. Though Rosa DeLauro is, in fact, Mrs. Greenberg, she wants to be known as Ms. DeLauro. Any problem with either? What?
