It's a serious question. What's he going to do when Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell tell him to go to hell? Is he going to tell them they are liars on television and then call into Mark Levin's show and whine? Being President doesn't work like that.
Is he going to be like President Obama and try to use executive orders to ram his legislation through?
Compare that to Trump's approach from Art of the Deal where he asks for 3x more than what he wants, completely disorients his competitors and shakes the ground beneath everyone, and then gets what he wants.
Maybe banning all Muslims to the country isn't realistic. But surely banning Syrian refugees and hell all refugees until we figure out what the hell is going on isn't a radical position right now. It was a radical idea before Trump. That's Art of the Deal.
Well, everyone hates Obama and they give him everything he wants
Cruz brought this on himself...Cruz went after trump’s mother, claiming trump’s mother might cause trump’s eligibility to be questioned. Cruz is not nearly as smart as has been advertised... What would you do if somebody without caused questioned your mother?
I agree that Cruz lacks the charisma of Donald Trump. I think that once a party nominates an individual with the forensic skills possessed by Ted Cruz that momentum will more than compensate for the difference in "charisma."
I also note that Donald Trump does worse than other Republicans in matchups with Hillary and Sanders in some polls.
I believe that this is the last election (if we lose) in which the Republican ticket has a chance of winning because the demographic tsunami is about to wash over America and render conservatism as irrelevant as it is in Europe. But for this election only the fates have combined to present an opportunity in which any competent Republican candidate can win the general election. Hillary is likely to be indicted in my view. The Democrats even if she is not indicted will be thrown into chaos as Bernie Sanders destroys her image of inevitability and brings back memories of 2008.
If we elect Ted Cruz we have a chance of saving conservatism. If we elect Donald Trump, he will have no interest whatsoever in our ideology and we will be left with the legacy of his ego and we will be awash in a demographic wave even despite his wall. We will have no demonstrably effective conservative ideology of proven and successful governance. We will have had Donald Trump.
So many Americans are fed up with the ideology of the Obama administration that they are ready to try a Republican. If our economic situation begins to deteriorate as the stock market predicts and as the events in China suggest, more and more people will be out of work (see this month's dismal figures) and that will weigh heavily against the Democrats.
It would be inconceivable that someone of Ted Cruz' abilities could not capitalize on these advantages in this environment when he would have full attention of the media and all of the trappings and momentum of the Republican Party. If the nominating process can turn a peanut farmer into a president, surely Ted Cruz can do the same. If the nomination can turn Barack Obama with no ideology other than a pension for communism and no platform other than "hope and change" into a president, surely Ted Cruz can do the same.
As to conservatism controlling from a minority position, that is the fate of conservatism but actually the fate of most ideologies. When a conservative position as articulated as it was by Ronald Reagan, the tent flaps are open and the public floods in and we get the big tent. The ability to turn the nation upside down on an issue such as homosexual marriage does not belong to leftists alone. Our ideology is stronger, more reasonable, and more palatable.
We can win as conservatives.
Claimed all his assets were gone and he got a margin loan, which is NOT a conservative way to finance a campaign. Betting on daily market swings and having to make margin calls with real money that you don’t have is not the same as using your house for collateral.
Those people doing the hating, are trying to avoid hard work, accountability, productivity, and trying to collect a bigger paycheck for doing so.
Everyone just raved about the Titanic as they set off to sea.
Everyone just loved working at Enron. Everyone just loved Ted Kennedy, but how many would take a late night drive in an Oldsmobile with him?
At least get your facts straight. Cruz brought up the fact that Trump’s mother was born in Scotland only after Trump questioned Cruz’s eligibility. And Cruz didn’t go after Trump’s mother. He merely mentioned that she wasn’t born here.
The problem for me is that I have very little faith that Trump will do the right kind of deal. For example, I'm very confident he'd do a deal with Democrats to "improve" Obamacare, or perhaps pass something that is even more liberal. I'm sure Trump will think he got a great deal. The problem is that I suspect my definition of a good deal would be very different from his.
Trump did not ask the question... The moderator asked Cruz. Facts and all!
“Cruz knows more about the Constitution and the law than any candidate. He knows clearly what the President can do.
If heâs elected, and the Congress is in Republican hands, expect historical things to happen.”
Oh that’s good! The “Republican Congress” hates his guts. Those a$$holes would screw him over on general principles. And “knowing the Constitution” and what he can do has been a boon to Obola. Just look at all the $hit he’s gotten away with with that same “Republican Congress.” Nice try, but no sale here!
Interesting comment since Texas sent Cruz to Washington in the first place and the few polls they have at Real Clear Politics from Texas show Cruz beating Clintoon while the newest poll from November 8, 2015 shows him tied with Trump as "first choice" and coming in first as a "second choice". Only 8 percent said they would NEVER vote for Cruz compared to 16 percent that would never vote Trump. It also looks like Cruz beats Trump in Texas when it comes to how favorable they are. LOL
With all due respect, looks like your comment at this point in the primaries might be all hat and no cattle
I like the constitutional conservatism espoused by Ted Cruz. What I don’t like is all the other baggage Ted carries with him. He’s rather hawkish and it’s hard to know how genuine he is. Teaming up with Glenn Beck doesn’t improve his credibility with me, just the opposite, actually.
He’s a career politician, which is a negative in my view. There are several red flags signaling that he might not be trustworthy. As a Senator, some of his votes seems shaky. Politicians run for cover on close votes or switch up when it looks like a given vote might hurt them politically. If he had only served In the Senate a bit longer, I’d be able to make a more informed judgment about Ted. For politicians, it’s never what they say that counts. It’s how they vote that really matters.
Yes but the moderator referenced Trump’s questioning of Cruz’s eligibility. The only reason it came up in the debate was because Trump had brought it up just prior.

Sorry that you can't see that, nor much else.
> Got a loan... with no collateral.
That’s some pretty hateful mendaciousness right there.
Now would you like me to expose all of Cruz's current flaws?
Looking at all the laws sponsored by Cruz
I think the facts are trump was asked by the Washington post first because of democrat threats of law suits... Hence trump said it should be resolved... Then the chatter began leading up to the debate. Cruz never answered the initial question asked by the moderator... Cruz rambled around naming who else has eligibility issues... Trump suggested Cruz get a court to make a declaration... More exchange... Then Cruz launched on trump about trump’s mother causing Trump’s eligibility to be questioned...
Harvard law schooled Cruz knew darn well trump has the constitutional requirements. Cruz is the one who is not natural born.
Yeah, it’s a serious question, you’re just trying to help him like Trump. Why don’t you guys just get a room and have a little Cruz hate orgy and get it over with. Sometimes I swear I must be on a democrat site with the vitriol being spread this primary.
Easily !
W tried to undo ALL of Clinton's, but some were disallowed. It is NOT all THAT easy to undo the EOs as he imagines.
