“He’s not defining conservatism. It’s not even about conservatism. It’s about the very survival of our nation.”

It’s about time we started realizing that an idology isn’t worth much if it fails to deliver on it’s promises of a better life for ALL our citizens. You know it’s funny, Liberals are forever telling us that their repeated failures are simply the result of “the wrong” people trying to make it work. But based on recent history, I’d have to say that conservatives (or at least people who tell us that they are conservatives) can’t point to a good track record of trying to make conservative principles work for all of us either. So what I want to know is, are they liars, or just incompetent? I was involved in GOP politics here in California when Ronald Reagan was our governor. I spent some time in meetings where he was present. He was a lot softer man than Trump, but I always came away from being with him feeling that he had the best interests of all of the people of California in everything he did. I am hoping that Trump can give us some of the leadership that Reagan possessed.

So all of you or most of you have given up on Conservatism? Isn't that just peachy.

You shall reap what you sow. The Democrats have moved to the Marxist style of left and will share that with Communists, and the republicans have filled the empty space they vacated and become classic liberals.

What I am seeing here is classic liberalism. Pro-war, pro trade, pro gun, limits on immigration and a couple other more right wing points but the rest is big government, big regulatory circus, liberal judges, and giant safety nets.

The democrat classic liberal originally was the opposition to the classic conservative repub that was anti-war, anti-immigration, isolationist and pro tariffs and subsidies for business.

Both party's have taken a giant step to the left in only 16 years. The previous step to the left occurred when Reagan left the democrat party some 75 years ago.

This is a global phenomenon as it occurred in Europe as well.

I guess it is what it is...I can't do anything about it with one vote and a few words.

But I sure can refuse to participate in it. And I will do exactly that.
