The conservative writer who organized the big anti-Donald Trump manifesto out tonight, along with three of the writers who signed on, to explain why they do not want Trump as president and do not think he is a great vessel for conservative values.
National Review is running a huge anti-Trump manifesto available online later tonight, organized by editor Rich Lowry. The writers include Glenn Beck, conservative media watchdog Brent Bozell, Erick Erickson, Bill Kristol, Dana Loesch, Michael Medved, evangelical leader Russell Moore, former Attorney General Michael Mukasey, Katie Pavlich, John Podhoretz, and othersââfor a grand total of 22 major anti-Trump conservatives. -

“Why, because they have principles and beliefs vital to conservatism that they are unwilling to compromise and view Trump with great skepticism? Did ANY of these people in the video go after Donald Trump personally, or did they stick to the issues?”
Principles? You mean the “principles” that Kristol and many of the rest of these “conservatives” supported like GWB’s stupid war, GWB’s massive spending, GWB’s stupid “comprehensive immigration reform” bulls*** and generally letting Barack Hussein Obama have free reign to do as he pleases to destroy the country?
If that is “conservatism” you can have it. To hell with these two-faced and triple-hearted phony “conservatives.”
Closing the effin’ borders and bringing our jobs back home has NEVER been a “principle” of these hot air blowing “conservatives.” Screw ‘em all.
A bunch of losers put together a “manifesto” against our front-runner. What do they possibly hope to accomplish except mark themselves as... well, losers? Do they really expect America to read their words of wisdom and go “Ah! Yeah! You’re right! That Jeb (or whoever) guy is REALLY the guy we should be supporting!”. Have they seen Trump rallies? Have they read the polls? Do they talk to real human beings?
There comes a point where it’s just stupid not to jump on board - you’ll just end up drowning in the water otherwise.
While ivory tower conservatives wax eloquently about freedom and principles, ivory tower communists are feverishly implementing their Orwellian nightmare. Trump’s promise of action strikes a chord.
I wish I had read your post before I posted mine, TTFlyer... you said it much better!
:-)
Of course he’s not a conservative.
He’s a liberal. So what? So is the rest of the GOP.
Trump has never pretended to be someone he isn’t to his credit.
“Bill Kristol? Michael Medved? Erick Erickson? et al. This is a WHOâS WHO of GOP ELITE ESTABLISHMENT flaks.”
I know. What a joke this lineup is.
What does he hate about Cruz?
This WILL do NOTHING except make Tumps numbers go up!!! These people STILL don’t get it!!! They need to get out of DC for awhile I honestly can’t wait for the whole damn place to be BLOWN UP!!!
Where is Karl Roves name????
IOW, I see them as part of a bigger group than Rockefeller Republicans.
Burr, Hatch, Dole, McConnell are unprincipled hacks. They go where the wind blows. They'd follow a communist if they thought that was the way the wind was blowing.
Dana Loesch works for Beck nut said!!
If you desire a consistent conservative policy candidate, of course Trump does not measure up. He’s non-ideological and all over the lot. And he changes his positions whenever he pleases, as if they are his to change!
What this group and a lot of good conservatives don’t understand is...People aren’t supporting Trump because they think he’s some super-conservative, they know better.
The group begins with a mistaken premise and promptly marches down a blind alley. They been doing so for many months.
Which is how Trump has come this far. These people lose to Democrats, independents, they lose to everybody. They suffer from a form of political Stockholm Syndrome.
We should chip in and send them all Teddy Bears.
Yep. The message is managed. Salem Broadcasting, to name one.
1. He is hard right social conservative which will turn off ^middle of the road^ republicans and jews
2. He is unelectable in general Vs. Hillary
3. He does not get along with almost no one in congress, and nothing will get done
4. Does not like his VAT tax
....going by my memory. I did not make written notes.
So-called conservative media didn't refrain. It just walked a little closer to the edge. This allows us malcontents to feel as though pressure is being vented, while the politics goes along toward the inevitable plantation America.
All I know is that EVERY Single one these “authors” have written countless articles about the virtues of “conservatism” yet the country has become more Socialistic than I’ve ever seen in my lifetime (45 years)!!! At this rate they can keep writing about what constitutes a “real” conservative while the USA journeys its way to a full blown Communist Nation before I pass away......
They are freakin TERRIFIED that Trump means what he says and that border is finally going to get shut down.
You get it! You just nailed the MAIN REASON why Trump has been leading all along.
It is clear that there is some kind of establishment in the media and government that thinks they are the holders of conservative orthodoxy, and they don’t want to share with anyone who might actually change the way things are.
Over and over they said they were worried that Donald Trump wouldn’t do what he has said he would do. But it really sounded to be that they were terrified that he would do the things that he said he will do, and totally disrupt their cozy little worlds.
It is going to be an interesting couple of months, because I think ol’ Reince Priebus is right, this thing will be over by the end of April. Then they will have six months to get used to Republican Candidate Trump, and then President Trump.
