On January 19, Donald Trump, the loudest Republican claimant to the anti-establishment label, filled out his recent attacks on Ted Cruz in a very telling way, as revealed on Mark Levin's radio program ...
We've been contacted by the establishment types. They all want to know, how do they get involved with the campaign? They're giving up on their candidate...and I mean these are real establishment people, that I've known when I was a member of the establishment -- meaning a giver, a big donor. But they are contacting us -- Corey [Trump's campaign manager], I think we can say that very honestly, they're contacting us left and right about joining the campaign, and these are serious establishment types.
Who might these "real," "serious" establishment types be? Perhaps there is a hint in this subsequent comment, a follow-up to his recent pro-establishment assault against Ted Cruz:
So when you talk about temperament, Ted has got a rough temperament, I don't know. You know, you can't call people liars on the Senate floor, when they're your leader.
This, of course, is a direct reference to Cruz's criticism of Mitch McConnell regarding the GOP establishment leader's secret deal with Barack Obama prior to a trade vote.
Donald Trump defending Mitch McConnell, you ask? The answer is yes, and the explanation may be found by examining Trump's recent history as a political donor.

I don’t think Rush’s treatment of Trump is due to fear so much as the realization that any criticism would have to be walked back if he needs to support Trump in the general election.
Good point but there is no balance.
It’s TRUMP! TRUMP! TRUMP!
Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
But you do know your post was a major non-sequitur.
I was addressing the issue of the supposed (in the eyes of the Oh So Great But Not So Bright Conservative Purists) move of Trump to the establishment and pointing out that the establishment itself is moving toward Trump, as it would to any winner, including the Canadian Candidate, if he (by the minuscule chance granted to him by God) became the President.
The Canadian Conservative would also attract establishment support if he were far ahead in the polls and the presumptive nominee.
How can you Oh So Great But Not So Bright Conservative Purists not see that?
THAT is my question.
It has nothing to do with (as your post implies) you have to accept the choices offered to you. I was not even talking about that. Whatsoever.
Has Trump said those things are on his agenda?
My, you do go on.
I am puzzled that Cruz supporters completely ignore Cruz’s willingness to bend over to the cartel that he so often blasts. The man voted for the Corker bill, and goes about the country condemning the bill he voted for. He must be some kind of mental case. Trump has, in the past, made comments that I disagree with, but his comments had no impact on government policies, and he says he has changed on those issues, such as abortion.
But Cruz has very lately VOTED in support of the cartel. He has until recently advocated legalization for all illegals. And now he claims to be on the right of that issue to Trump.
Yes. It is called presenting an argument. As opposed to sitting at your kitchen table early in the morning googling the latest batch of anti-Trump so-called-news pieces on the internet and posting them here in FR... forgetting all the while your affiliation with Walker, which many here have not forgotten, Oh Great Queen of Conservative Purity.
Right.
EPA/Education: ""No, I'm not cutting services, but I'm cutting spending. But I may cut Department of Education (Common Core)"...
(Common Core, by the way, isn't a federal mandate: and he will leave in place EPA services - as in dictates?)
See how he massages his position?
: )
You can’t handle the truth.
The truth? You dredge the Internet every morning and call that the truth? I call it pathetic spamming in the service to the Canadian Candidate. Just like you spammed for Walker. Spamming is your forte. It is what you live to do.
Yeah, I don’t know. Sounds like his usual word salad.
And you undoubtedly have the cancelled check plus the audio from the meetings that took place to make this happen. /s
Go Trump!
When you find a Trump quote I posted where he’s praising liberals and liberal policy that’s wrong, let me know.
Or on the other hand, when you find a Trump quote slamming conservatives that I posted that’s wrong, you let me know that too.
It is all spam. That is what you do.
For decades we have shook our heads wondering why blacks line up to vote for the Dims decade after decade despite the utter destruction the Dims have brought to their community.
Trump has made many of them realize Conservatives are the Blacks of the GOP plantation. We line up year after year, sacrifice our time and money, and what do we get? A GOP political machine this is virtually identical to the Dims who comes around every 2 years saying “If you just give us this, everything will be awesome.”
Ask yourself this. Despite giving the entire Government to the GOP under Bush, was any item on the Conservative agenda advanced?
Sadly the answer is NO. And what many of us are realizing is the tools of the Conservative establishment i.e. Town-hall, Heritage Foundation, Club for Growth, NRO, Weekly Standard, Fox News, etc are the GOP equivalents of the “Civil Rights Leaders” that keep Blacks on the Democrat's plantation.
Cruz is just the latest red herring of this “keep the Conservatives on the plantation” stick. Cruz does not have the ability to go over the heads of the political/media/business machine and get the American people behind him. Cruz will mouth all the right slogans and do nothing but what the Political/Media/Business machine tells him to do. If he oppose them, he will be tied up with phony media manufactured scandals and a uniformly hostile Congressional Leadership until he knuckles under in desperation to build SOMETHING for his "legacy".
This is why people need to quit worshiping the career politicians who happen to mouth the proper slogans. Under the surface, all professional politicians are driven by ego and the ambition to write their names in the History books.
I cant sit at my kitchen table all day and address all spam. Today I am addressing the latest phony issue from The Pure Conservatives:
Trump is moving to the establishment.
So Trump is taking money from the establishment?
NO, this is a team up tactic to ruin Trump with his voters.
It won’t work because they hate they spewed at Trump over the past months doesn’t jive.
