On January 19, Donald Trump, the loudest Republican claimant to the anti-establishment label, filled out his recent attacks on Ted Cruz in a very telling way, as revealed on Mark Levin's radio program ...
We've been contacted by the establishment types. They all want to know, how do they get involved with the campaign? They're giving up on their candidate...and I mean these are real establishment people, that I've known when I was a member of the establishment -- meaning a giver, a big donor. But they are contacting us -- Corey [Trump's campaign manager], I think we can say that very honestly, they're contacting us left and right about joining the campaign, and these are serious establishment types.
Who might these "real," "serious" establishment types be? Perhaps there is a hint in this subsequent comment, a follow-up to his recent pro-establishment assault against Ted Cruz:
So when you talk about temperament, Ted has got a rough temperament, I don't know. You know, you can't call people liars on the Senate floor, when they're your leader.
This, of course, is a direct reference to Cruz's criticism of Mitch McConnell regarding the GOP establishment leader's secret deal with Barack Obama prior to a trade vote.
Donald Trump defending Mitch McConnell, you ask? The answer is yes, and the explanation may be found by examining Trump's recent history as a political donor.

Love it!
I liked him initially. I even sent him a little money. I don’t care for his plan to tamper with social security though and I especially don’t care to set a precedent whereby children that were born in foreign countries to foreign fathers can gain control over 1/3 of our government, our intelligence services, and our armed forces. Some people aren’t seeing the big picture here imo. Cruz can out Christian Trump so that good enough for them.
RINO Rand Paul endorsed Mitch McConnell
RINO Jim DeMint endorsed Lindsey Graham
All RINOs I tell ya!
Nah.. A soros man... Sure. Keep posting CW.. The Trumpeteers operatives are being called out on FR.. Finally. Trump... The only democrat who can win.
I guess if the country wants another untested “star” - a liberal to boot, Trump fills the bill.
He certainly is making no bones about his liberal policies, past, present and future.
".....[Donald] Trump: This is the best time to think like a champion. As an example, the house is being foreclosed. You go see your bank -- maybe you can make a deal, maybe you can't. But you can make a deal with a bank on another house, and much better than the one you're living in. ... They'll do any deal to get rid of their product.
They have houses by the thousands. And you go see that bank and you make a deal.
[Larry] King: How do you assess [Barack Obama]?
Trump: Well, I really like him. I think that he's working very hard. He's trying to rebuild our reputation throughout the world. The previous administration was a total disaster, a total catastrophe.
And, you know, the world looks at us differently than they used to. ... He was handed a pretty bad deck of cards. And I'm not saying I agree with everything he's doing. ... I do agree with what they're doing with the banks. Whether they fund them or nationalize them, it doesn't matter, but you have to keep the banks going.
King: Do you assess him as a champion?
Trump: Oh, yes, he's a champion. I mean, he won against all odds. When he first announced, people were giving him virtually no chance. And he's just done something that's amazing."....
... I think they prefer Trump because he no idea about separation of powers, an appreciation for statesâ rights, etc.
It wouldnât occur to him that an existing, let alone proposed program, is no business of the Federal Government.
I agree with you. He is a very low info guy, saying he is going to do that which he can’t. He is also lying through his teeth trying to take Cruz out.
Actually, he put himself in the spotlight BECAUSE of illegal immigration....
......and lack of respect for our veterans and military
........and bungled, ridiculous trade deals
........and lack of security for our nation
ETC
There....fixed it!
O my.. I missed that exchange. Thanks for sharing it.
This is so beyond ridiculous that it deserves a longer post than I have to give it right now.
But briefly, for now:
First of all Dole part of the establishment? Please, he’s a retired old geezer who has exactly ZERO influence on ANYBODY.
Second of all, WHEN the establishment accepts Trump, AND MOVES INTO HIS CORNER, does that mean that Trump has joined the establishment. NO!
IT MEANS TRUMP WON AND THE ESTABLISHMENT IS FOLLOWING *HIM*.
He is running for President of the United States.
Oh Great Conservative Purists, let me ask you this:
Is the President of the United States an OUTSIDER????
Of course Trump is running to become the ultimate insider, that is what the PRESIDENT is.
That is what your Canadian Candidate will be if he could somehow run the gauntlet of voters and courts (.00001% chance, I know, but just for the sake of argument).
If Cruz The Canadian somehow became President of the United States, he too would be INSIDER NUMBER ONE.
He would be the LEADER OF THE INSIDERS.
That IS the whole point of this election, Oh Great But Not So Bright Conservative Purists.
YOUR Canadian candidate is running to obtain the same ultimate support of INSIDERS that our American candidate is running to obtain.
So cut the crap, ok?
If the insiders run to Trump, it just means Trump is winning, Oh Great But Not So Bright Conservative Purists.
Don’t feed me a crap sandwich and tell me it’s good because it’s on the menu.
“Ted’s chicken dung excuse for making TPP easy to pass is proof the GOPe can rely on him when push comes to shove.”
I am puzzled that Cruz supporters completely ignore Cruz’s willingness to bend over to the cartel that he so often blasts. The man voted for the Corker bill, and goes about the country condemning the bill he voted for. He must be some kind of mental case. Trump has, in the past, made comments that I disagree with, but his comments had no impact on government policies, and he says he has changed on those issues, such as abortion.
But Cruz has very lately VOTED in support of the cartel. He has until recently advocated legalization for all illegals. And now he claims to be on the right of that issue to Trump.
For part of the problem, the Limbaugh part, all one needs to do is turn the dial.
The bigger issue, Trump's popularity in the polls, about all that can be done is what is being done - present arguments on where the candidates stand on the issues, their competence (or lack thereof) and all the other factors that condense into choosing a candidate.
Dont feed me a crap sandwich and tell me its good because its on the menu.
Your mind is a one of the fundamental forces of the universe.

Good start, eh?
A number of disciples went to the Buddha and said, “Sir, there are living here in Savatthi many wandering hermits and scholars who indulge in constant dispute, some saying that the world is infinite and eternal and others that it is finite and not eternal, some saying that the soul dies with the body and others that it lives on forever, and so forth. What, Sir, would you say concerning them?”
The Buddha answered, “Once upon a time there was a certain raja who called to his servant and said, ‘Come, good fellow, go and gather together in one place all the men of Savatthi who were born blind... and show them an elephant.’ ‘Very good, sire,’ replied the servant, and he did as he was told. He said to the blind men assembled there, ‘Here is an elephant,’ and to one man he presented the head of the elephant, to another its ears, to another a tusk, to another the trunk, the foot, back, tail, and tuft of the tail, saying to each one that that was the elephant.
“When the blind men had felt the elephant, the raja went to each of them and said to each, ‘Well, blind man, have you seen the elephant? Tell me, what sort of thing is an elephant?’
“Thereupon the men who were presented with the head answered, ‘Sire, an elephant is like a pot.’ And the men who had observed the ear replied, ‘An elephant is like a winnowing basket.’ Those who had been presented with a tusk said it was a ploughshare. Those who knew only the trunk said it was a plough; others said the body was a grainery; the foot, a pillar; the back, a mortar; the tail, a pestle, the tuft of the tail, a brush.
“Then they began to quarrel, shouting, ‘Yes it is!’ ‘No, it is not!’ ‘An elephant is not that!’ ‘Yes, it’s like that!’ and so on, till they came to blows over the matter.
“Brethren, the raja was delighted with the scene.
“Just so are these preachers and scholars holding various views blind and unseeing.... In their ignorance they are by nature quarrelsome, wrangling, and disputatious, each maintaining reality is thus and thus.”
Then the Exalted One rendered this meaning by uttering this verse of uplift,
O how they cling and wrangle, some who claim
For preacher and monk the honored name!
For, quarreling, each to his view they cling.
Such folk see only one side of a thing.

Parable of the Blind Men and the Elephant
There are five cats living in my house. And when I shared your comments with them they replied, “Why the aroma and allure of the catnipman’s dish is almost like the real thing — it’s mighty satisfying indeed!”
"Wow. What a brilliant comment. Insightful. And cutting. You have cut me to the quick. I am humbled by your Oh So Brilliant Conservative Purity. Your mind is a one of the fundamental forces of the universe."
Your admonition to "cut the crap" inspired me.
