” I do think he is eligible ASSUMING one of his parents was an American citizen when he was born.”

Now suppose a similarly situated person to Cruz also born in 1970.

Instead of being born in Canada, they instead were born in Vietnam to an American serviceman and a Vietnamese mother. Would that person born in Vietnam be a natural born citizen of the USA?

Yes. When you are born to one or both American citizens parents, who are serving the USA military or foreign service, you are fully a natural born American citizen.

This was the condition of John McCain, born in Panama, when the father was on military assignment.

The statement and question respectively are clearly rooted in emotionalism and speculation

It is not complicated, think about it, the answer to the question is YES!

Now you might say, how so, I will answer thus, examine the facts beyond the conjecture you presented and THINK about it.  I encourage setting emotions aside and think, that is what conservatives are supposed to do, if then you are still stumped let me know and I will attempt to further facilitate discovery into the obvious simplicity of it all.

HINT:  Below are a couple of definitions from The Sages English Dictionary to facilitate the endeavor if you so choose to engage the thinking process.

Facts: A piece of information about circumstances that exist or events that have occurred

Conjecture: A hypothesis that has been formed by speculating or conjecturing (usually with little hard evidence)
