While Chobani is like eating paste, I find Yoplait is like eating syrup. My favorites are Greek Gods yogurt and, for pure indulgence, Noosa.
I once hid a serving of Noosa in the back of the vegetable drawer but one of my kids found it before I got to it. It’s so good!
The good yogurts have gotten so expensive that I’ve started buying kefir instead. It’s less than $3/quart at Aldi and the better yogurts are over $5 for the same amount.
Greek Gods honey vanilla is awesome, as is their plain.
I bought a dozen Chobani single-serve cups last week because they were on sale, to toss in the lunchbox. Every single one was less than half full, only about 2 tbs. in the container.
So I’d already decided to boycott Chobani.
Yoplait, Dannon, and many other commercially popular brands contain no probiotic cultures, and thus are not real yogurt (like Kraft singles are not real cheese.) They’re just gelatinized processed milk product.
Real probiotic yogurt is very healthy for the GI tract. Especially after a bout of stomach flu or diarrhea, and after taking antibiotics. Look for the word “probiotic” on the carton.
