Defense Secretary Ash Carter is reportedly considering retroactively demoting retired General David Petraeus, amid a crackdown on generals who engage in misconduct.
The Daily Beast reported Tuesday that the Pentagon is in the process of considering the move against Petraeus, who admitted giving classified information to his mistress and biographer before he retired.
The decision now rests with Carter, who is said to be mulling overruling a prior Army recommendation that the general should not be demoted.

She should be pre-emptively demoted.
Hillary gave classified info to the Russians, Norks, Chinese, Iranian ....
Interesting timing, isn’t it? This is all about Hillary and not in a nice way.
Obama wants control of the Dem party.
If Hillary is indicted, who does Obama put up for his 3rd term? Biden?
Teamobama is vengeful. They will overlook nobody who they deem their enemy.
Obama and his Admin hate Petraeus for saving their asses
Why keep beating on a retired (though not yet dead) warhorse?
Was there a rumor that Petraeus may run for office?
This seems like gratuitous overkill.
I have no problem with Petraeus being demoted. If an enlisted man or Company grade officer had done the same thing he did, they would be in prison. Petraeus got off too easy. No one is above the law period. If I “mishandle” classified material I’m done. I lose my job and go to prison. Why should Petraeus or Hillery be any different?
This is Valerie Jarrett firing a warning shot across Hitleryt’s bow reminding her the dirt the Clinton’s have on Urkel stays buried or else.
Looks like Petraeus is being threatened with blackmail - imminent demotion - to keep quiet.
Petraeus Testimony 'Constructive,' Benghazi Committee Chair Says
"The place that he helped me the most yesterday is this notion of whether or not we had assets that could have impacted what happened in Benghazi," the chairman told Fox News Thursday. "And if we did not have assets in the region, and this is a really important question... why did we not have assets in region on the anniversary of [the] 9/11 [attacks on the U.S. homeland]?"
Gowdy indicated that various witnesses who have testified before the committee have provided different answers to that question, including some who have passed the blame onto others.
"What Gen. Petraeus said yesterday, not only was it constructive, it's constructive enough that we're going to talk to him again," the chairman also told Fox News. "He is a unique witness."
The fact he said this at this time... hold him to doing the same to hillary. or Trump will do it when he’s the President.
I predict Biden will enter the race. Notice how quiet he’s been lately? He’s waiting to make the grand entrance.
What about Hillary?
Good point. “Shut up, or else...”
They did let slip two weeks ago that Biden “regrets he didn’t get in the race.”
Seemed like an odd comment to let out unless Biden was trying to set things up.
But can Biden jump in if Hillary were indicted tomorrow? Haven’t the dates passed to get on ballots?
He is going to blow a hole in the front door with his shotgun?
Even if this is some tin foil hat stuff, Petraeus got off too easy to begin with. He wasn’t held accountable the same way you or I would have been in the same circumstance. If we want Hillery to go down for her crap, Petraeus needs to pay the price also.
