I’d believe you, but your explanation doesn’t account for the facts of McConnell’s bitter hatred for Ted and the very bitter public fight they have had. It has a chair and 3 vice-chairs, which means of course that a vice chair controls nothing.

“In short, he sold his soul to McConnell Inc.”

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

“Just after the Texans’ election in November 2012, GOP leader Mitch McConnell – now the Senate majority leader—asked Cruz to serve as NRSC vice chairman in charge of grassroots outreach. In effect, he sought to bring the tea partier into the tent by making him the liaison to tea partiers.

But it quickly became obvious that Cruz wasn’t so much of a team player.

He sought to recruit and promote like-minded conservatives ahead of the 2014 GOP primaries. He worked with outside groups that sometimes backed candidates other than those picked and approved by the NRSC – in particular, the Senate Conservatives Fund, which backed challengers to a number of incumbent Republicans, even including McConnell.”

“A conservative outside group whose efforts Sen. Ted Cruz backed has called for defunding the National Republican Senatorial Committee.

Cruz, an NRSC vice chairman and Texas Republican, has not rebuked the effort.

This weekend, Senate Conservatives Fund launched a campaign calling on conservatives to pledge not to give any money to the NRSC in the aftermath of last week’s runoff in the Mississippi Senate race. As is typical, the NRSC backed Republican Sen. Thad Cochran, while the SCF and other outside groups backed his failed challenger, state Sen. Chris McDaniel...

...Last October, the tension between Cruz’s role at the NRSC and his backing of the SCF campaigns was apparent when the SCF endorsed Matt Bevin in the Kentucky Republican primary against Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.”

Let’s see: Ted Cruz is evil because he had a turbulent stint on the NRSC, but Trump is going to save us after praising Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.

Y’all are barking mad!

Listen, you don't have to talk to me that way or make fun of me with your long lines of laffing.

When I engage someone I do it straight. I even took the time to correct your squiggles - there were lots of them - so everyone could read the points you were making.

This is what you don't get - and I don't know why your blind to it.

Look what Cruz did with MS. He had to have known what the NRSC was doing and yet he never stood ahead and called them out. And yes, you're right about the NRSC and CSF, but he wasn't booted off, he left at the end of his 2-yr term and wasn't asked back by the new chairman.

He did all that stuff that Mitch asked him to do including going on Hannity and saying he wouldn't endorse anyone running against an incumbent. Paul was there, too.

So, while he was placating Mitch, he was trying to work with the Conservative committe. He didn't choose. He may have been the one behind getting the CSF to defund the NRSC. I don't know. But he didn't come out and take the provocative stand. He wouldn't deny or confirm they were doing it.

He is always in the middle until one side or the other becomes totally untenable. And he does that all the time. And finally, after all this, all the machinations, the behind the scenes stuff, trying to serve both masters, what did he do in Sept 2015? Why he gave to 250K to the NRSC.

"The moves come as Cruz, a potential 2016 presidential candidate, has been trying to broaden his reach and goodwill with establishment figures, while also demonstrating that he has a grassroots base that he can energize behind other candidates."

This is what he does. He straddles the fence, tries to keep all his options open, curry favor with both sides. That to me is untrustworthy and unethical. Cruz serves Cruz.
