Sarah Palin, the former Alaska governor and 2008 vice-presidential nominee who became a Tea Party sensation and a favorite of grass-roots conservatives, will endorse Donald J. Trump in Iowa on Tuesday, officials with his campaign confirmed. The endorsement provides Mr. Trump with a potentially significant boost just 13 days before the state's caucuses.
The question is, why in Tarnation would Cruz or his team allow that video to be leaked? Who are they hiring?
This is just the beginning of the stuff coming out the Cruz. I said the other day big things were coming and this was not it. He closet is filled with questionable things......of course they have to make it a trickle as they do everyone. It will be an interesting ride for Cruz. I am still thrilled with Sarah endorsing Trump who I think is best for America right now. This was particularly good for Iowa because that was the one state where Trump was vulnerable. This will help Trump sweep all 50 states now for the nomination.
It’s shameful and yes, amazing the “HATRED” and stupidity espoused by some here. SORECRUZERMEN and women too.
It's sad when the one Republican you supported and trusted turns out to be a phony and a fraud.
Of course it is a fair question.
How do expect the Congress and CIC to handle it?
I just don’t get it. Is he that incapable of talking to his family? I mean I knew he was a little robotic but that is incredible. Intelligent people in some cases are horrible with social things. Cruz seems like he may not have very good at communication and social activities like praying and talking to his Mother and his children he was totally scared to death to be around them. Weird.
You guys are fantastic. It's like a Keurig of tears...
Thanks scruzrs. Politics ain't beanball. Appreciate the whelp when you take the hit.
(Again, no need for the acrimony between Trump and Cruz supporters here. Most of us like both.)
I still support Senator Cruz.
I will not play the liberals game.
Evidently!
THIS is the biggest conservative endorsement TRUMP could hope for, with Sarah Palin. And the Fallwell support at Liberty University matters too, as well as the endorsement of the heroic constitutionalist, PHYLISS SCHLAFLEY, of Eagle Forum fame. BIG stuff, here, just in time to sweep IOWA.
After reading up to this point, I think I have a slightly different take from various others. I didn’t like Palin, and would actually hesitate to vote for Trump if they were on the ticket together, but I like her more now.
Her endorsement shows that even though she is an orthodox conservative on many issues that Trump has not yet clarified his position on, she sees the picture clearly. Her various failings, as I see them, are not in her conservatism, anyway. But the main point is that the best conservative position is the one that conserves the United States as we know it and love it. If we don’t conserve that, there’s no point discussing all the individual issues, as there will be country to improve or defend.
It’s an existential battle (in the new meaning of that word). You might say, But what happens if the individual decisions aren’t made the right way? All I can say is that I trust that if the big decision is made the right way, the smaller ones will be also.
Palin has done the right thing. Now let’s hope that the non-traditionally conservative voters will believe Trump has done the right thing also, politically and morally, and will not be fooled by Tina Fey and other leaders of the blind.
What is with this puss puss thing you keep inserting.
Does it have some secret meaning?
Sarah Palin running as McCain’s VP didn’t make McCain less of a liberal.
Sarah Palin Endorsing Trump for president doesn’t make Trump any less of a liberal.
The country needed the 100,000+ jobs Trump created all by himself much more than one more soldier in the army. Trump has employed thousands of returning vets. Trump has done more for wounded vets than any other private citizen.
there will be country = there will be no country
An affectionate name for all my pets. Doggie and kitty too.
Wanna fight about it?
No sadder than watching former Trump supporters see him for what he is.
That’s not sad at all. I’m waiting for it to Catch Fire.
And both of your comments illustrate why, although this is a big win for Trump, it’s a big loss for both Sarah Palin and Conservatism.
Palin’s brand is based on being a unifying force that can bring Conservatives to the polls. She’s now inserted herself into a very divisive and polarizing fight by choosing sides.
It damages her brand, because the significant number of Conservatives who support Cruz are now angry at her, and unlikely to forgive and forget. It diminishes her and her ability to influence other races down the road.
It hurts Conservatism because at some point there will be a nominee, and a need to bury hatchets and mend fences. Palin would have been important, instrumental even, in doing that. Both Cruz and Trump supporters will NEED to work together to beat the Democrat. Palin could have been a bridge between the two camps.
She should have refrained from making an endorsement until after the nominee was chosen. It would have been better for Conservatives, and better for her own political future.
I won’t get into the damage done by her daughter lighting into Cruz this afternoon.
Nice pic!
John Wayne’s daughter just finished speaking. Nice pretty lady. You could tell she’s not used to spotlight, a little nervous, but she did a good job! First time I’d ever seen her.
She said Trump loves America and if he is President there will be true hope for our country to be strong again.
So in essence you have compared Sen. McCain to Donald Trump.
