Sarah Palin, the former Alaska governor and 2008 vice-presidential nominee who became a Tea Party sensation and a favorite of grass-roots conservatives, will endorse Donald J. Trump in Iowa on Tuesday, officials with his campaign confirmed. The endorsement provides Mr. Trump with a potentially significant boost just 13 days before the state's caucuses.
That was a very good read, what you said. You identified my own experience with supporting Ted and what went wrong.
Now my stunned self sees that it has recently come to my attention that when Cruz dropped off the radar in 2014, conveniently during those Republican senatorial races, that he was not only serving on the NRSC, but Cruz also gave $250,000.00 to McConnell and the NRSC, at the same time the Mississippi Treatment was employed against Matt Bevin, who was leading that race.
Gob smacked works here.
Not a finger was lifted to assist another soul, by Ted Cruz, who was ingratiating himself during that election cycle to McConnell and the boys, who were pulling off that dirty tricks operation in Mississippi with the help of the Barbour machine and the duped black Democrats, their radio stations and neighborhood flyer system to bury Bevin in smears and lies.
Remember how hot we ALL were, then? I had no idea Ted’s disappearance from that battlefield was about his own damn redemption, after alienating the entire US Senate for reading his green eggs and ham filibuster.
Ted has been showy, but yikes, we’re batting at zero on his accomplishment.
his vaunted position hid him on ithe failed to offer vocal support, financial support or even moral support to candidates like Bevin, in MS, who was leading in that race.
a single conservative running in those 2014 races
“Common sense and love for America will be punished! “
LOL....maybe not this time.
.
Just quit your lying.
.
Most appear to be sticking with Cruz, not Palin.
Some are rather weak, and very subjective though, and follow the splash.
I think that being on trashy reality show circuit has gotten to Palin's head. She's more about fame and publicity than ideology. As long as she and her family get to make a public spectacle of themselves and appear on "Dancing with the Stars," it probably doesn't matter to Sarah who gets the nomination.
I find it a little disturbing to read posts like "I'll wait to see who Sarah Palin endorses" among undecided voters. Nobody should let somebody else do the thinking for them, particularly not reality show stars.
I'm actually still undecided on who to support in the GOP primary, but neither Sarah Palin's opinion nor anyone else's is going to sway my decision.
You did your homework well. Thanks for some info that I was not aware of. I wrote Cruz off when I realized he was for amnesty, no deportations, and a 500% increase in the evil H-1B SCAM. We can get this from Reid or McConnell : )
.
Remember, dforest is an admitted Obama supporter.
dforest appears to recognize that Trump would be Obama’s third term.
.
Well said.
Trump or Bust
I went from strongly disliking Trump and not taking his candidacy seriously to seeing several upsides to his campaign. First, we can largely thank Trump for preventing Jeb Bush from being coronated, which was the RNC's plan from day one. Second, even if he's a less than sincere johnny come lately on the issue, he's putting the spotlight on illegal immigration, which IMO is the most important issue facing America today. Third, as he constantly reminds us, he isn't bought and paid for like everyone else. I still don't particularly like or trust the man, but it's not as though most of the likely alternatives (Clinton, Rubio, etc) are acceptable or better.
I may vote for either Cruz or Trump in the primary, but as I said earlier, Sarah Palin's opinion on one or the other is irrelevant to me. I stopped taking her seriously as soon as it became clear that being a reality TV celebrity was her highest priority. I think of Sarah Palin as the Kim Kardashian of the Republican Party.
In terms of progressive politics, the difference is only skin deep in my opinion.
It is why so many conservatives are essentially "gob smacked" by the self identified conservative Trump supporter. .
Probably, but that's not what's motivating her this time. I said she likes him but that doesn't get to the heart of it. I'll go further, I think Sarah has a schoolgirl crush on Donald Trump. When she talks to him she's absolutely giddy. It's kind of funny, actually.
I do not believe that Trump will have the opportunity to name anyone as a running mate, so we may never know the answer to your prognostication.
If anyone else was as far ahead in the polls right now they'd be the presumptive nominee. Contrary to media opinion the mass delusion is that Trump can't be nominated, not that he will be.
Judging by my email inbox people are flocking away from Palin in droves at this moment.
I hope Trump chooses Palin as VP just to see the reaction. Not just by the Trump haters here, but by the whole establishment. Exploding heads all around!
Wow, my editing was so bad on my post that you replied to, I am shocked you could decipher it! The phone rang and I inadvertently pushed “post”, before cleaning it up!
Yes, call me gob smacked to learn what happened with Ted. You need to see if you can find it at theconservativetreehouse, who ‘splained it chapter and verse. Cruz’ position on that Committee required both silence on the election, and cash contributions to the Committee, to re-elect incumbents (THAD COCHRAN comes to mind.)
Sorry I can not link to it.
There is no other way to read it, but that story exposed the nasty side of politics. But, by golly, Ted’s prayerful.
Thx, sjb. Rita
Don’t forget to ping me when Levin calls Palin a frozen shiksa!
What would that lie be?
So do I.
” theconservativetreehouse”
I am a fan of same. Thanks.
Bingo. The fact that anyone would allow the opinion/endorsement of an intellectual flyweight like her to sway their thinking is disappointing at best. I’ve always found the whole concept of political endorsements a bit disturbing and symptomatic of the level of groupthink inside the beltway/state capital/etc.
So he was born in Canada. Does not make TED a Canadian at heart. Military personnel have babies all over the planet with spouses from other nationalities, are those children German, Japanese, Philopino, etc and NOT American?
You need to find another way to hate Ted Cruz.
You need to understand the DIFFERENCE between a temporary military assignment in a foreign country, versus growing up in a foreign country. Where you grow up during your formative years is what you inherit. How old was Rafael Eduardo Cruz before immigrating to United States? That is critical.
Imagine an American woman married to a Saudi and living in Saudi Arabia. She has a child there. Grows up there. That child comes to United States at age 21 to pursue college education. Sure the child is a NBC due to American mother, but would we want him to be president?
