I'll admit it -- when this speculation began mounting yesterday, I wasn't remotely sold on the idea that Palin was poised jump aboard the Trump Train when so many influential figures within the conservative talk radio constellation are at long last blasting The Donald and rallying to Cruz. The Palin speculation seemed even less plausible when this rumor leaked:

Maybe Palin is pushing to have a Trump/Cruz ticket.
Maybe because he isn’t paying them?
That won’t ever happen. Cruz would be the BIGGEST hypocrite to tie his wagon to a progressive like Trump.
Exactly. I am the first person to defend Megan McCain when people go after her for her looks. I’m usually all “go after her because she’s a moron not because she’s a bit pudgy”. That said I have absolutely nothing nice to say about Michelle Obama. Tyler Perry in drag is more attractive than her.
Nonsense. That wall will have a "big beautiful door." Trump has said he wants them back "rapidly."
Fear. Conservatives have been spooked like a herd of bison headed for the cliff.
Face the REALITY he has no chance I am afraid.
Who makes that "REALITY"? We do.
We will see Palin Derangement Syndrome and Trump Derangement Syndrome both go into hyper overdrive, and may see some people spontaneously combust.
[Well, she has been known to hitch her wagon to RINOâs.]
She did it in Illinois and pushed out our beloved conservative congressman.
Palin also endorsed Rick Perry in 2010 over K. B. Hutchison.
As much as I like her, she’ll lose votes for him. Better she be brought on board after the election.
Her fangs are more yellow than the dress.
“...Itâs going to make their heads explode...”
Can you imagine the invective from the “NY Values” crowd if the situation were reversed? The profanity and blood-lust would likely be difficult to behold.
As for me, I still like Palin, even though her track record is supporting the conservative candidate. I don’t consider her “infallible” like a Pope is revered, so I’m sure she has her reasons - if she is backing Trump.
I’m still supporting Cruz though. I consider him a much better fit for the nation and those who self-identify as conservatives.
But good luck with your candidate!
Both Palin and Trump are media people first and foremost, with politics a distant second in their list of priorities.
Nifty pic ... have to save it to my pc later :)
That pix is only 3,000px à 1,941px. Got anything larger?
I would love a president Cruz. But I don't think he can beat Hillary. He doesn't have the ability to break the narrative that Trump has. Trump is gifted that way. Trump/Cruz to show that Cruz is going. Eight years of Trump, 8 years of Cruz.
See post 24.
“...Eight years of Trump, 8 years of Cruz...”
That works for me.
If it comes to that, I wonder what all the “Trumpanzees” and “Cruznadians” (terms I’ve read right here on FR) will do, given the *deeply-emotionally-invested* “lines in the sand” each has drawn? It will be interesting...
“nationalistic populism will have officially supplanted principled, policy-driven, limited-government conservatism as the currently dominant strain within the American right-wing.”
I will go with nationalistic populism. The other, “principled, policy-driven, limited-government conservatism” hasn’t been the currently dominant strain within the American right-wing for 25 years.
I think most Trump supporters here would be support Cruz, the other way around, we have the angry purists who like a spoiled petulant child would rather have Satan leading this country then being pragmatic. Some of you purists need to stock up on freeze dried food, go live in an old missile silo and fellate yourselves to fantasies of a white\hard right hegemony that is never going to happen. This country has NEVER been the country you make up history about.
