Ted Cruz‘s wife, Heidi, was once so depressed that a police officer wrote: "I believed that she was a danger to herself."
The incident happened in 2005 shortly after Heidi quit her high-powered job at the White House and moved to Austin, Texas, to be with her husband, who was state solicitor general.
Police responded to a 911 call about a woman in a pink shirt sitting next to an expressway and found Mrs. Cruz sitting on the ground ten feet from speeding traffic with her head in her hands.

Stuff like this on Cruz or his family should never be posted or discussed, but everything Trump ever said or did, or anything any member of his family ever said or did is fair game. /sarc
re: But low is the new normal.
I beg to disagree. This has been the norm since the beginning. Go back and read some of the flyers, pamphlets and newspapers from the 18th and 19th century. Some of them were downright vicious.
You I both know that had this story been about Trump’s wife, it would’ve drawn the same visceral reaction.. as it should.
Yes, but this wouldn’t be a story unless the roadside incident was new. Unfortunately, it has a graphic element to it, so people will remember it and focus on it.
Where do they find the people to dig up these ancient, redacted police reports?
Scott Walker is toast, get over it!
...and why it's staying up is another question.
Yes. It wasn’t the Trump people.
I guess I’m one that would expect a mention of deep depression by Ted in his book was felt necessary by something, some event.
I just know from my own experience, especially with my daughter’s teen years were certainly not uneventful.
I just think this is sleazy politics and something to which he’s already given the explanation he felt necessary.
One would think that with Obama’s new Gestapo Healthcare plan and HIPA and all that, things like personal medical conditions would be private. But I guess that’s only for the Democrats and liberals among us.
check
next they'll cover the prank Cruz pulled on school mate 20 years ago...
Of course. It wasn’t a “tell-all” book. It was written with the campaign in mind.
I was hoping for more info on the Supreme Court cases, which I have not been able to find anywhere in a nice capsule form. That was really why I bought the book.
Oh I think we all know why it’s staying up. For the same reason Trump’s fanatics are allowed to run wild. For the same reason PDSers were allowed to shred her and her family without having their crap pulled.
Because FR hasn’t been a conservative site for many years.
Of course - the mere stress of being married to a white male conservative would do that to any victim of the right’s War on Women. /s
As Trump suppoerter i think this article is troll crap but if this was about Trump’s wife the Cruzstians would be trumpeting it from the bell towers.
I won’t read comments. The perverted snark, lack of compassion and bashing by people who don’t like her husband is nothing I need in my mind. Trumpees only have compassion for trump.
I would be shocked if there ever was a woman who had not at some point been depressed. Nonsense.
This one time in band camp.......
Is there any reason why this (even if true) would would affect Ted Cruz’s ability to do his job. Lots of people have spouses who are depressed.
It is an abysmally stupid thread to post. But look at the posters screen name.
Because FR hasnt been a conservative site for many years.
Oh, by the way, did you know George W. Bush was cited for DUI 40 years ago?
I absolutely would not, nor do I think most Cruz supporters would. Sadly there are Freepers on both sides willing to go to the low side. When the primaries are over I plan to support the nominee...even if it’s JEB!!!
