Ted Cruz‘s wife, Heidi, was once so depressed that a police officer wrote: "I believed that she was a danger to herself."
The incident happened in 2005 shortly after Heidi quit her high-powered job at the White House and moved to Austin, Texas, to be with her husband, who was state solicitor general.
Police responded to a 911 call about a woman in a pink shirt sitting next to an expressway and found Mrs. Cruz sitting on the ground ten feet from speeding traffic with her head in her hands.

This is beyond the pale, lots of people have suffered from depression. I am a Trump supporter and Cruz is sinking fast as my number two guy but let’s not get ugly like some who hate Trump. I am glad she seems to have gotten to a better state of health, good for her.

In real life people get depressed...some of them very seriously. Some of them commit suicide, some of them get sick and die, some of them get help in time and recover...others never really recover.
Why should something like this...that happened ten years ago...be an issue?
I hope that whomever thinks that this type of thing can and should be used against a candidate has it backfire badly on them.
For one, most people these days will not respect it and see it for what it is.
And two...what goes around comes around.
I’d be very careful about either making fun of, or trying to negatively use something like this. God has a way of letting people find out first hand what they cannot figure out through sympathy.

I’m very sorry to hear that she went through tough times. I have too. I’ve been in a dark place, and it was there that I saw the light of Jesus Christ.

I heard on the radio that Cruz mentioned this episode in his book, so this isn't even news.
