Between the two of them, I can believe they would want Trump. Cruz is a sure loser in November, and he’s apparently the kind of person who makes enemies out of everyone with whom he comes into contact.

They know Trump is the “art of the deal” guy and that Cruz isn’t - they’ll take their chances - play chess with Trump.
Who better to take out Cruz and clear the way for a Bush or a Christie, than Trump?
Then the Establishment will get behind their guy and go for the nomination.
ABC, NBC, MSNBC, CNN - all the usual suspects are giving Trump kid glove treatment and respect.
And Trump does? Hillary and the media have enough on him she’s have a shot at 70%. If he would ever really run against a patron.

Perhaps ‘they’ are pumping up Cruz to take him out as not being a ‘natural born citizen’ and then have a brokered convention to give it to Bush or Christie or, heck, Romney?
If Cruz is out legally, it’s total Republican party chaos....almost like someone wanted that in advance.
Trump has a good chance against Hillary. He could pull in the sort of Reagan Democrats who delivered landslide wins for the GOP in ‘80 and ‘84, and he’s already shown that he has the media savvy to shut down Hillary and her bs war on women with reference to her role in enabling Bill. He plays to win, unlike our recent candidates.
Except when Cruz is the alternative.
Trump and the GOPe can find common ground.
