I'll have to watch the video and see the context before making a conclusion.
Wonder if he knows that means freedom not to sin?
This is the beauty of Trump that is going right over many people’s heads.
Read his comment:
We’re going to protect Christianity. I can say that. I don’t have to be politically correct,” he said. “Two Corinthians, 3:17, that’s the whole ballgame ... is that the one you like?”
He IS NOT trying to be something he isn’t! Unlike many ‘Christians’, he isn’t going to try to hide what he doesn’t know and act like someone he isn’t. And he does it in a humorous fashion. I think that comment is beautiful from someone who obviously respects his audience and isn’t going to pose as someone on the same level spiritual level as them.
And this backs up a point I’m going to keep making that he is a man of his word whose goal here is to not con an entire country, but rather put his solutions out there in black and white and then DO IT if given the chance.
2 Corinthians 3:17New International Version (NIV)
17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. (NIV)
He is new to Christianity and conservatism. He is still learning the lines to fool people.
I say “Two Corinthians” all the time.
Trump is a very busy guy,
he only had a little time to skim Cliff's Notes before playing Bible thumper at rallies
But I think whats is important here is that:
1) Don will deport every last illegal on his first day of office and make Mexico build the wall.
2) Ted was born in Canada
3) Evangelicals don't come from Cuba.
HAHA!
You Cruz people just want another Jimmy Carter!! (sarc)
Interestingly, this hasn’t bothered Jerry Falwell Jr. who has warmly praised Trump many times.
God forbid Trump expresses what he read in his own way and not in the “pure” fashion of The Perfects who are holier-than-thou without sin waiting to find any fault!
Says the very devout Politico.
“We’re going to protect Christianity. “
So wait, let me get this straight.
The PURE Christians casting stones here, the holier-than-thou types, the pious ones, the PERFECTs...
skip over Trump’s intention of PROTECTING Christianity because they in their elitist holiness have determined he referenced the Bible in a way the do not approve of...?
Do I have that right? I’m too busy gagging on the arrogance of those who think they are so faultless....
It’s the mistake you’d make if you never heard it before. (The Sioux mistake)
Oh No! I’ll definitely have to switch my vote away from Mr. Trump Now!
I suppose it’s not too late to vote for Mr. Walker.
I guess I’ll just have to stay home and not vote now. Pity.
If you’re reading it off a teleprompter someone else prepared for you, you may. Like Obama did with “corpsman”.
It’s never too late for a man to come home.
So, two Corintians go into a bar...
“Two Corinthians” would not sound unusual outside of North America.
I’d be more interested in how well Trump handled the verse than the reference.
I’ve never heard any believer refer to a second book of the Bible as “two”.

Really? I hear it at Sunday School, church and prayer meetings on Wednesday, every week.
If someone says “Corinthians”, how would you know which book they were referring to? 1 John, 2 John, 3 John.
Jimmy Carter teaches Sunday School......’nuff said.
