Friends of Tulip Siddiq, the MP leading the campaign to ban Donald Trump from Britain, have said she will be “tearing†his reputation to “shreds†during today’s parliamentary debate on the proposed ban.

Siddiq was born in St Helier Hospital in Mitcham, London. From the age of five, she spent her childhood in Bangladesh, Brunei, India, Singapore and Spain. In 1998, at the age of 15, she moved to North London and gained four A-levels, before completing her undergraduate degree in English Literature at University College London and then a Master’s degree at King’s College London. In September 2011, she completed a second master’s degree in Politics, Policy and Government, writing her dissertation on Local Government also at King’s College London.
Siddiq is the eldest daughter and second eldest among three children of academic and university economics professor Shafiq Siddiq and Sheikh Rehana, who gained political asylum as a teenager and met Siddiq’s father, who was studying for a PhD and married in Kilburn in 1970. Her maternal grandfather is Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, founding father and first Prime Minister of Bangladesh. Her mother’s older sister is Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina. She has an elder brother, Radwan Mujib “Bobby” (who lives in Bangladesh), and a younger sister, Rupi.
In 1975, some retired and rebel Bangladeshi soldiers stormed Siddiq’s mother’s home in Bangladesh and assassinated Siddiq’s grandfather, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, alongside his three sons] and 16 other members of his family in a military coup. Siddiq’s mother and aunt survived as they were on holiday in Germany at the time.

Following Saturday’s news that Iran was releasing imprisoned Americans in a swap with the U.S., some Republican presidential candidates weren’t completely thrilled with the way the deal went down.
Donald Trump: “They get $150 billion, plus seven and we get four.”
Marco Rubio: “Governments are taking Americans hostage, because they believe they can gain concessions from this government under Barack Obama,” he said in Iowa. “It’s created an incentive for more people to do this in the future.”
Ted Cruz: “You’ll notice the Obama administration announces the good news and then hides the bad news,” he said. “While we celebrate their return, this deal serves as piece of propaganda for both Iran and the Obama administration.”

I have a relative who just got back from London. She said it was disgusting and terrifying, seeing all the muslims protesting and wearing burqas.
She said she never felt so unsafe, and will never go back.
