Ted Cruz’s Father: My Son “Anointed” To “Take Control of Society”..
The Conservative Treehouse ^ | January 17, 2016 | Sundance

Posted on 01/17/2016 8:34:01 PM PST by abigkahuna

n a sermon last year at an Irving, Texas, megachurch that helped elect Ted Cruz to the United States Senate, Cruz’ father Rafael Cruz indicated that his son was among the evangelical Christians who are anointed as “kings” to take control of all sectors of society, an agenda commonly referred to as the “Seven Mountains” mandate, and “bring the spoils of war to the priests”, thus helping to bring about a prophesied “great transfer of wealth”, from the “wicked” to righteous gentile believers.

STOP THIS!

All you have done on this thread is throw out insults, attempted to start a flame war over and over again, and disrupt.

Under the Internal Revenue Code, all section 501(c)(3) organizations are absolutely prohibited from directly or indirectly participating in, or intervening in, any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for elective public office. The prohibition applies to all campaigns including campaigns at the federal, state and local level. Violation of this prohibition may result in denial or revocation of tax-exempt status and the imposition of certain excise taxes. Those section 501(c)(3) organizations that are private foundations are subject to additional restrictions that are not described in this fact sheet.

Churches are 501c3 and this activity is against the law, whether right or wrong.

Sorry, I can’t accept that at all.
There is absolutely NOTHING in my religion that has claimed that. Just because YOU believe it, doesn’t mean that anyone else has to.

.
Your desire to interfere with what is preached in a church is what is serious, and grossly un-american.

The word of God tells us what to believe, not any “church.”

Sundance is officially a tool of the left. Or just a tool. I'm not sure which. By perpetuating the myth that 7 Mountains is dominionism, he has wholly embraced liberal methodology.

For anyone who cares to discover the facts:

There are 7 Mountains of Influence in Culture...

In 1975, Bill Bright, founder of Campus Crusade, and Loren Cunningham, founder of Youth With a Mission, had lunch together in Colorado. God simultaneously gave each of these change agents a message to give to the other. During that same time frame Francis Schaeffer was given a similar message. That message was that if we are to impact any nation for Jesus Christ, then we would have to affect the seven spheres, or mountains of society that are the pillars of any society.

These seven mountains are business, government, media, arts and entertainment, education, the family and religion. There are many subgroups under these main categories. About a month later the Lord showed Francis Schaeffer the same thing. In essence, God was telling these three change agents where the battlefield was. It was here where culture would be won or lost. Their assignment was to raise up change agents to scale the mountains and to help a new generation of change agents understand the larger story.

This website is designed to help educate those who wish to become change agents in culture for Christian values and to connect like-minded men and women for a common vision.

What?! Bring Christ back into our culture?! That's just crazy talk! /s

If you bought this line of attack, you need to do some serious fact-checking. The primary opponents to it - and the ones attempting to tar and feather Ted Cruz with it - are ungodly liberals who write for Salon, The Atlantic, Huffington Post, DailyKos.

It’s not religion at all. It’s what the Bible says. Believe it or don’t.

I am done now. Good night.

So this preacher is saying America should be ruled by a King who then loots the pastures, wine grapes, cows and all of the vast horizons, and then brings the spoils and gives it to folks like him, this preacher?

Doesn’t sound like it fits into the Constitution of the United States. And this End Times Transfer of Wealth, I have heard this. In San Francisco, there was a guy named Jim Jones and he was connecting with a LOT of local politicians there in order to “transfer the wealth”. This isn’t very comfortable to listen to. If this guy was saying Ted Cruz is to become one of these Kings or something, Cruz is finished. I mean if there isn’t any clarification on this, we are talking Moonies here.

Actually, worse than Moonies by far.

If someone thinks they are proud of this, maybe they got to rethink and start to figure out how to explain this, because once it goes across the wires now it is going to really strike folks as seriously questionable stuff for a candidate of the Presidency of the United States to be mixed up in, so it better be clarified real soon and Bible quotes aren’t going to cut it as part of the explanation. You are going to have to talk to Americans, not just some evangelical sect that may start to sound like it is some sort of anti-constitutional form of it’s own sharia.

I guess it’s OK to bear false witness on someone if it serves a political purpose. Sad. Really sad.

Over and over again, even after proven unequivocally false. So beneath what FReepers used to be. That's what one gets I guess, when one throws Conservative principles to the ground.

Which doesn't mean that YOU know the tenets of Presbyterianism; now does it?

When did Trump "ATTACK" the faith of others and just WHO are YOU to then JUDGE him on his faith and/or knowledge? You've just done to Trump, worse than he has supposed done to some else.

I'm not trying to interfere and you have made a false accusation. Bearing false witness...

I was observing and noting the illegality of it, not filming it surreptitiously for the IRS.

I thought I did hear him.

There are dozens of his sermons available on YouTube - both to churches and at political events... Pick any three to find how false this witness is. There is a reason why he is in demand as a speaker. and his patriotism cannot be shaken.

This thread does the man a great injustice.

You know, you might want to check out my post above, where I bid everyone a good night and thanks everyone for being civil. I added that we might all support different candidates in this race, but in the end we are all FRiends. Now you had to go and make a personal attack on me. Why would you do that you rumpus? You liver stained limp wristed coffee-boy? Did the big boys hive you an atomic wedgie when you were a lad? Were you cheated out of your share of gum drops? Just what the heck is it with you?

We all had a nice conversation going. Other posters were explaining some of the rational behind the sect’s church teaching. Okay. I got it, I understood it. I just thought that it might not fly in the general. That’s my political opinion based upon optics....not religious opinion...which is quite separate and quite frankly none of your bees wax.

So go home little boy and do not darken one of my posts again or I will short sheet your bed and make certain your oatmeal is always cold.

Good Night Irene!

I ... don’t understand the question. As a Christian, I believe in Christ. Are you asking whether I think Cruz is an ordinary Baptist and a brother true Christian? Then yes, I do believe that. The hype about that Iowa meeting being some creepy dominionist anointing was flat out a misrepresentation of the event. It was Ted getting to meet a bunch of Iowa pastors. Barton was there, but so were a lot of other ordinary evangelical folks.

BTW, I’ve heard Barton speak in person. He was a speaker for Liberty University law school when I was there a number of years ago. He’s controversial with secularists because he believes we were founded on explicitly Judeo-Christian principles, which of course I agree.

But the seven mountain prophecy is a horrible mangling of Hebrew exegesis, so I can’t follow him on that one. But in the interview where he talked about it, it didn’t seem “dominionist” to me. I know dominionists personally. They’ve got a church right next door. But Barton was different. He just recited the seven areas of society as areas Christians should try to influence. He didn’t cast it as a control thing.

And I agree with the idea we should take our vocation in life very seriously and do all we can to glorify God and win people to him (cf. John Calvin on vocation), and if we could stop abortion and halt gay marriage along the way, I’d be all for that. But the author of the OP’s article would find me creepy too, just for believing that rather Biblical idea. We are to be salt and light, right? Jesus said so. Does that make me a dominionist?

Peace,

SR

And as for you, I have had it with your trashing of Conservative Review. Mark Levin, a valued friend of Free Republic, is the Editor-in-Chief of Conservative Review. Conservative Review’s LibertyScore is an accurate analytical tool.

If you can’t support your candidate of choice without tearing down friends of Free Republic, kindly make your exit because you aren’t doing FReepers any favors with your undignified behavior.

For me, I thank GOD ALMIGHTY, that Trump just does throw away lines about religion. Now that might offend YOU, but I don't like the PHONY ( yes PHONY )use of religion in political campaigns. Trump is a Christian, he goes to church, that he doesn't meet YOUR criteria, is appalling and judgmental!

LET GOD DECIDE WHETHER HE IS A GOOD OR BAD CHRISTIAN!

Trump HATES what's being done to Christians by the crazed Muslims, he is VERY unhappy that GOD and yes Christians and probably Jews tool, in this nation are being cowed by the PC crowd and maltreated by our legal system. If that isn't good enough for you, then that's YOUR problem not his.

And FYI....not all Christians "kneel in front of the cross"! Does THAT make them outcasts too ? And if so, what gives YOU the "right" to say so?
