The standard political rules don't apply to Donald Trump.
We have seen him get through controversy after controversy that would have instantly ended the campaign of a traditional candidate and not only has he remained virtually unscathed but his poll numbers have actually increased.
Trump has struck a nerve in this country and capitalized on what is perhaps the most perfect window for him to run in thanks to the fact that people are more divided than ever and extremely frustrated with the establishment and status quo in both parties.
A recent poll from NBC and the Wall Street Journal puts into perspective just how convincing Trump's message has been.

There's no better encapsulation of Trump's up-is-down-and-down-is-up effect on presidential politics than a new number from the just-released NBC/Wall Street Journal poll. The question asked is a simple one: Could you see yourself supporting [fill in the blank candidate] for the Republican nomination for president? When NBC/WSJ first asked GOP voters that question about Trump last March, fewer than one in four (23 percent) said they could see themselves voting for him.
Wow.
That's pretty remarkable when you consider everything that has happened over the last year.
The media has been bashing Trump left and right for everything he says. Celebrities have been freaking out calling him racist and threatening to leave the country if he wins. But yet, here he is with a significant amount of support that only continues to grow.

I can understand their being upset b/c their candidate’s chances are pretty hopeless.
What I don’t understand is the vitriol against Trump who is not the Big Government guy. If he accomplishes 50% of what he tells us it will set the Globalists back 30 years
What we are learning though points increasing that Cruz is Big Government with a thin veneer of sincerity that’s is pulling away to reveal just another Bush Era Globalist.
I guess if Hillary beats Trump these fools will dance in the streets.

Donald Trump is being ripped apart in the news, non stop.
Barrack Hussein, Hillary Clinton and the criminals occupying our government, are protected and glorified by the same media.
The media is the (NeoCon Republican and) Democratic Party.

He has said NOTHING derogatory about MEXICANS …. He has said what American citizens KNOW….. This country has to close its borders to ILLEGAL Immigration!

He may have had a point about NY, but why he would put a city or state down like that in a public setting, a televised debate, is beyond me. It was just so dumb. For the last 7 years we've had a president who hasn't even tried to pretend he's a president for all the people. I was just a little stunned that Cruz said what he did.

If Trump were to turn out to be not what he says he is, believe me, the republicans would impeach him and his veep on the same day. And if Pelosi wins the speakership back the democrats would be on board.
If nothing else he has made it public how much most of America is fed up with liberalism, an Islamic commie in the White House and the professional politicians of both parties in Washington. It is unimportant what his historical political stance has been...he is inciting the public to clean house big time in Washington...something long overdue. If he can arouse the people in flyover country to take back our country from the Washington establishment, so be it!

I don’t think you understood my point.
For a person (for clarity, let’s call him John) to be Constitutionally eligible for the presidency as a natural born citizen using your “original” definition, both of his parents would also have to be natural born citizens.
What circumstances of birth would have to have been in place for John’s parents to be natural born citizens?
Again, by your definition, each of their parents (i.e. John’s grandparents) would have to be natural born as well.
If any of those four weren’t natural born (a naturalized citizen or non-citizen), then the Constitutional requirement for one of their offspring (either John’s mother or father) to be natural born wouldn’t be met. And, in turn, the Constitutional requirement for John to be natural born wouldn’t be met either.
The “original” definition that you cite is unworkable if you really think about it.
You need not understand it, as it is not necessary.
Instead, give points for vileness, originality, most negative adjectives per sentence.
You will soon see a pattern, most of them have no original thought.
There are many parrots here, frustrated to no end that we simply cannot fathom their intelligence and high IQ numbers, and why we do not listen to them and believe trump to be the liberal jackass that they envision him to be.

Chris. I feel exactly the same way only in reverse. Odd because I know you are a good conservative, I have read your stuff for years. My view is that New York values are not my values even though I was born and raised in NYC. Trumps attacks on Cruz citizenship eligibility are part of politics bu the insistence of Trump folks that some Swiss philosophers writings are dis-positive of American citizenship when the same folks railed against the SCOTUS citing foreign law in their holdings has alienated me the same way you have been alienated.
At any rate, your vote is yours and yours alone and you owe nobody anything.
