Graph Shows A Surprising Number Of Republicans Have Changed Their Tune On Trump

The standard political rules don't apply to Donald Trump.

We have seen him get through controversy after controversy that would have instantly ended the campaign of a traditional candidate and not only has he remained virtually unscathed but his poll numbers have actually increased.

Trump has struck a nerve in this country and capitalized on what is perhaps the most perfect window for him to run in thanks to the fact that people are more divided than ever and extremely frustrated with the establishment and status quo in both parties.

A recent poll from NBC and the Wall Street Journal puts into perspective just how convincing Trump's message has been.

From The Washington Post:

Donald Trump, as I tell anyone who asks, defies virtually every political rule I thought I knew. There's no better encapsulation of Trump's up-is-down-and-down-is-up effect on presidential politics than a new number from the just-released NBC/Wall Street Journal poll. The question asked is a simple one: Could you see yourself supporting [fill in the blank candidate] for the Republican nomination for president? When NBC/WSJ first asked GOP voters that question about Trump last March, fewer than one in four (23 percent) said they could see themselves voting for him.

Wow.

That's pretty remarkable when you consider everything that has happened over the last year.

The media has been bashing Trump left and right for everything he says. Celebrities have been freaking out calling him racist and threatening to leave the country if he wins. But yet, here he is with a significant amount of support that only continues to grow.

Only because folks like yourself keep supporting candidates who have made it clear that they only intend to regulate abortion instead of stopping it.

Rush won’t say a damned thing, sorry, I used to listen to him religiously, but I can’t during this primary because his pimping of Trump. He is infatuated with the Donald and I can’t see anything changing that. Bet you a bazillion dollars he gives Trump a three hour campaign ad tomorrow.

It was a long struggle, but it was worth it!

Gosh, the election is over already? I seem to have completely missed the part where anyone voted.

Because several of the birthers have been saying that to be a natural born citizen, the child had to be born on US soil, and both parents had to be natural born on US soil as well.

So, by that definition, if the child's parents have to be natural born, then the child's grandparents have to be natural born as well. And if the grandparents have to be natural born, then the great-grandparents do too. If you go back far enough, you eventually find immigrant ancestors who can't possibly be natural born, and the whole chain collapses, and NO ONE can be natural born by that definition.

That's ridiculous.

And you are saying that Cruz believes that?

Then tune in to Levin. Guaranteed it will be a 3 hour infomercial for Cruz and bash-a-thon of Trump. You’ll love it.

I can’t think of anyone who has claimed that. It wasn’t until Cruz brought that up that people were saying that was the case.

Nope.... go back and listen to what Cruz said. He said that some birthers argue that.

I have seen some birthers right here on FR argue that. I agree that is just silly.

I always do everything I can to make sure there is at least one person on the ballot that I can in good conscience vote for. And if no one else will step up to the plate I will do it myself.

In 2008 there was no way I was going to vote for John Judas McCain, so I did what was necessary to put Alan Keyes on the ballot.

In 2012, the GOP nominated the most liberal governor in the history of the republic, an abortion profiteer nonetheless, so I ran myself, placing at least eighth in the general election, according to the FEC.

And if the GOP keeps nominating people who won’t keep the the most basic and important obligations of the oath, I will keep right on opposing them.

At a bare minimum I will rob conservatives of any legitimate excuse for voting for what they say they hate.

I have followed so called birther threads on this site since Obama was nominated. I have NEVER, EVER seen one single person argue both parents have to be NBC. I.e.: the standard formulation is that both parents have to be “citizens” at the time of birth, not NBC.

If you are supporting the idea that ‘some say,’ both parents must be NBC, surely you can provide a link to at least ONE person actually saying that.

Surely.

Only real problem I have had with Cruz so far is how he has handled the New York values situation, though I will also say that I am been recently concerned with the issue of his eligibility, even though I personally do think he’s eligible. I don’t think he has handled that too well either.

But to be perfectly honest, since the last debate, Cruz supporters on this forum have behaved in such a way that has completely turned me off to Cruz. I don’t want to support their candidate, I don’t want to assist or help them in any way, their behavior have been atrocious.

And that’s it. Action-consequence. They damaged their candidate by at least one vote.

I turned off Beck years ago. What a nut ball. But Levin is so bad now that I’ll be tuning in Kilmeade. Sad that Kilmead on 9 hour tape delay (!) is more enjoyable than Levin. LOL.

I’m ok overall with Trump. However, his crudeness and high-school girls tweeting frenzied need to stop. Seriously.
At least I know Trump loves America.
