Yeah but apple is “cool”. But whatever. Are they getting government kickbacks to sell their products? If not, then good on them!

Nope. As far as I know, Apple was not even on the Government approved procurement list. . . that would have been Windows Computers. The US government just decided to approve Samsung phones based on their unbreakable "Knox" encryption standard. . . then three weeks later it turned out that Samsung keeps its passcodes in an unencrypted library in a TEXT FILE where anyone could find it! LOL! The Hacker Team company, has hacking tools for every mobile device, including Android and Knox, EXCEPT Apple iOS devices. . . yet our government decides to standardize on Android Samsung with Knox that keeps its passwords in a TEXT file in an unencrypted library outside of the encryption. . . stupid.

There were some exceptions to the above, such as NASA and the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and other research and engineering organizations.

Only recently with the Bring Your Own Device has the government added Apple devices.
