Those who question CRUZ and Rubio and Jindall and Santorum qualification also questioned O qualification. So apparently that puts you on the liberal” living constitution “ side We believe in original intent
Trump brags about supporting liberal politicians to buy personal favors.
Trump and dignity are mutually exclusive.
I agree.
I support Trump.
Watch this position and post get me flamed like I was a red-headed stepchild.
I also found this video of an RNC man speaking prior to the debate yesterday, a guy named Redfield. This is the RNC’s position on the vularians’ #coldanger: https://youtu.be/OT75R0uksSo
So this is similar to the argument that Alan Keyes had with BO, but Trump has a much better chance of winning the presidency than Keyes did, so his case is stronger and less likely to be dismissed.
Another FReeper put it very well: “...a celebrity in a pissing match with Rosie Oââ¬â¢Donnell..” The Donald is just that, a meretricious celebrity with an addiction to attention. This is no statesman, and not what we need to restore the dignity of the office.
If Cruz isn't an honest broker of his own narrative, what can we trust him about? The others (except for Jeb), for all their warts don't seem to be hiding who they are and how they got to this position in life.
That's a non-justiceable political question.
Affirmation of eligibility is assigned by the Constitution to Congress, and only to Congress. The doctrine of non-justiceability covers exactly this situation, wherein functions of Constitutional interpretation that are explicitly delegated to another branch cannot be resolved in the courts.
Whether a person with >270 electoral votes "can hold the office" is decided by Congress, at the Special Joint Session described in Article II and Amendment XII.
True but not filing it in required documents can instigate at the least a fine
No, if Trump had standing where Keyes did not it would be because Cruz is a constitutional conservative (must be stopped) while Obama is a communist infiltrator (gets a pass).
Disagree.
Look at Trumps rallies. Do you think Rush could hold such rallies? Or Levin, for that matter? People are there because they support Donald Trump and how he wants to bring about the right changes our country so desperately needs.
No disrespect to Rush, he is the best. But to think people who are going to vote for Trump will change their mind because of something Rush Limbaugh says, that is false thinking.
Ask most Trump supporters, there is not much he could say or do at this point to prevent us from voting for him, and Rush Limbaugh certainly will not change that.
Choosing the wrong VP would give Trump supporters more pause over anything Levin or Rush says and again, it will only lessen THIER numbers if they choose to go that route.
While Rush probably got Trump to back off on something a few weeks ago regarding Cruz, it is obvious the gloves are off now and Trump will not be backing down.
I do like that Trump said he would speak with Ted first prior to filing and lawsuit and you could tell it was not something Trump was pursing at this time. He was responding to a journalists question.
Watch how far he turns back to his left base after elected.
You are way off base.
Having candidates in primaries who may or may not be eligible for the post is called FRAUD. It is illegal.
Cruz could acquire 20/30% of delegates before the RNC kick him out of the race. Then they later at the convention give those delegates to Jeb Bush.
No one whose drunk the moderate Syrian rebel koolaid can be trusted with American foreign policy, no matter how smart he is.
Interesting line of reason.
Mr.Trump actual words do not show any intent to sue, at this time. He wants to talk with Mr. Cruz.
Trumps idea for a declaratory judgment is the best idea out there. If neither Cruz nor Trump bring suit(and the other guy from Texas may get into court), then Mz Pelosi will stop Cruz from being elected. I think she has the votes from both Republicans and Democrats to disqualify the votes for Cruz. And tie the process up in knots for a long, long time. Chief Justice Edwards would play a big role in this process.
TWB
I don’t think he gets elected, unless he manages to turn out the adult junior high demographic...
There are also stories out there about Ted’s father you know.
I don’t post those stories or make comments about them because I don’t believe everything I read.
You might want to take the same approach with your Trump comments.
Honesty is not just not telling lies. It is also looking at things with a clear eye, an open mind, and not repeating the lies and exaggeration of others.
Nothing new really. Same thing happened last election. Conservatives split the vote among Newt, Santorum etc and allowed Romney to win. Getting conservatives to rally around a candidate is like herding cats.
His parents were legal residents of the United States, had already begun the (time-consuming*) process of getting citizenship, and were subject to the jurisdiction of the United States.**
"Anchor baby" refers to a child born in the US to a foreigner without resident status, who then uses that birth to attempt to gain legal residency in the US.
Rubio is not an "anchor baby" (though he is the chief beneficiary of this DumbTrumpDump). Try again.
* "time consuming" because you have to file all your papers, state intent, and then wait a minimum of 5 years. His parents were naturalized in 1975, Rubio was born in 1971, obviously they had already sworn as to their intent before he was born.
** "subject to the jurisdiction of the United States" means they had no diplomatic immunity and could be tried in American courts just like you or me."
trump is a blow hard, he said back in September he had his lawyers look at this and they told him Cruz is a natural born citizen under the Constitution. Trump admitted in the debate he only brought up the issue because suddenly Cruz was beating him in Iowa. Trump will say or do anything he thinks will help him, even quoting leftist professor Tribe. He knows Iowa will go Cruz and then the scales will fall from many eyes.
Thank you. I did not realize Rubio bought into the “moderate Syrian rebel” rhetoric. That’s unacceptable. It’s buying into the whole globalist/Bush/Obama agenda that made such a mess out of the Mideast.
