Trump brands Cruz a 'nasty guy'
Political ^ | January 17, 2016 | Isaac Arnsdorf

The fracas between the Republican presidential front-runners escalated Sunday as Donald Trump went after Ted Cruz's likability, calling him a "nasty guy."

"Nobody likes him, nobody in Congress likes him, nobody likes him anywhere once they get to know him," Trump said in an interview airing on ABC's "This Week."

After weeks of circling each other, the gloves came off between Cruz and Trump in Thursday's debate, as Trump questioned Cruz's birthright citizenship and Cruz attacked Trump's "New York values."

“Being the most conservative in a particular race is of no value if you are also the most obnoxious in the race.”

By all means, vote for Kasich and kick the can some more. And trump is such a teddy bear.

More conservative isnt the point. More Cinstututional is.

The thing about Trump is he raises issues that need to be raised. Cruz’s likability is a real issue that needs to be discussed, and now it’s probably going to be discussed. Same thing with Cruz’s eligibility and his loans and stuff. It’s good that Trump is putting it on the table now. And it cuts the other way too, with Cruz bringing up Trump’s professed New York liberalism on social issues. All to the good, I say. Politics ain’t beanbag and these guys are slugging it out as they should.

Trump hasn’t brought it up.

I disagree with your political advice, but I respectfully submit that Trump is a better judge of the political expediency of such a strategy than either of us are.

‘Since when is being born in Scotland a “disparaging remark”?’

It was the way Cruz used the comment that bothered some.

‘Cruz said if he was to be disqualified as president, so would Trump.

“Donald’s mother was born in Scotland. She was naturalized,” Cruz exclaimed.’

Claiming Trump isn’t qualified bc his mother was not NBC is a low move.

Cruz said that Trump's mother was born in Scotland. How was that disparaging?

I do not believe that Cruz is interested in being VP under somebody who so obviously has not understanding or appreciation of the U.S. Constitution.

Trump is the candidate who has repeatedly resorted to personal attacks against his political opponents. In Trump's very brief political career, he has been the nastiest of all the presidential candidates running. Trump is not a counter puncher, he is a bully. Cruz will not cower in the face of Trump's attacks the way that Jeb and his other targets have.

I am originally from Ohio. Kasich is neither a conservative nor a constitutionalist. He used Obama-like pranks to pass the Medicaid/Obamacare expansion.

The people there would like to wring his neck. He’s a scoundrel and I wouldn’t vote for him as dog catcher.

I don’t think his targets cowered; they fought back, and ultimately realized it was for the most part counter-productive.

I’m not saying it won’t come up. I’m saying it hurts Trump if there is any way at all to attach him to it surfacing. When he’s inevitably asked about it, he should say he’s heard the creepy stories, but how the hell would he know if they are true, and the stories are not relevant. Let’s talk about border security and jobs.

Why would we “sideline” Cruz into the VP slot?

Can you tell me what other CONSERVATIVE we could put in there? NONE of the other candidates would qualify.

In my mind, Trump/Cruz or Cruz/Trump would be THE ticket to victory and the necessary change we’re going to need to save the country.

I mean...who else IS there???

I’m not saying they will or won’t come up, and I’m not saying you’re saying that either. I’m saying that I disagree with your opinion that it’s necessarily a bad idea to bring it up. And I’m saying that Trump’s analysis of the political expediency of it is more likely to be the correct one than whatever you or I think.

.

I'm clearly on record on being a Donald Trump admirer, but a staunch Ted Cruz campaigner.

The other night Donald Trump said he would NOT pursue legal action against Ted Cruz, now Donald has changed his mind.

Sadly, I now admit to being "wrong" about the Cruz-Trump "dust-up" as political theater.

Apparently, Donald Trump's ego can NOT deal with being second in Iowa ... that is a BAD sign.

So sad.

Not even George S. Patton, Jr. believed he was ENTITLED to WIN every battle.

Why do you want to waste a good man on a warm body job. The VP does nothing except wait, just in case. And preside over the senate when there is a tie to be broken.

There are to many jobs in D.C. with actual power that need smart men to fill them.

Sorry, Cruz has millions and millions of friends. All I hear are people who are frightened of Trump. People of all political stripes. Little by little, he’s pissing off people who’s support he needs. I’ve defended him for six months. I am non-committed at this point, and like many I like what’s he’s done, but it getting so ridiculous he’s going to have the bottom fall out because it so incredibly un-presidential. Going on these twitter spasms at this point is just indicating he can’t control himself. We’re a few weeks from the first votes and he needs to start acting like someone in office, not a celebrity in a pissing match with Rosie O’Donnell. It was fun early, but not so much as this stage.

His “twitter spasms” aren’t a new development; perhaps you haven’t been paying attention. He’s done the same against Jeb, Carly, and others.

Trump may be alienating Cruz folk, but Cruz is alienating Trump folk, and there are more of them.

The lying bully trump is trash. His best “friends” are Mafiosi implicated in murder and other various felonies.

Fox. Henhouse.
