Trump brands Cruz a 'nasty guy'
Political ^ | January 17, 2016 | Isaac Arnsdorf

The fracas between the Republican presidential front-runners escalated Sunday as Donald Trump went after Ted Cruz's likability, calling him a "nasty guy."

"Nobody likes him, nobody in Congress likes him, nobody likes him anywhere once they get to know him," Trump said in an interview airing on ABC's "This Week."

After weeks of circling each other, the gloves came off between Cruz and Trump in Thursday's debate, as Trump questioned Cruz's birthright citizenship and Cruz attacked Trump's "New York values."

So tell me how did you feel about Cruz when he told a group that he felt uncomfortable with Trump’s finger on the nuclear button? That was a pretty uncalled for insult don’t you think? Or when Cruz basically insulted the whole state of NY? Pretty crappy thing to say right?

Welcome to American politics its a full contact sport.

Here’s the quote:

He went on: “Who am I comfortable having their finger on the button? Now that’s a question of strength, but it’s also a question of judgment. And I think that is a question that is a challenging question for both of them.”

That’s an insult? Wow, are you Trumpsters sensitive. Saying someone is nasty and no one likes him is an insult. Saying that the judgment necessary for the awesome responsibility of the CIC is not.

You are either being disingenuous or you are remarkably ignorant of simple facts if you believe Cruz was insulting all New Yorkers. Everyone who understands the liberalism of New York City (as even Trump said in an interview) knows Cruz was talking about that, about the media and moneyed elites who are in favor of abortion, illegal immigration, same sex marriage, higher taxes, more government, more welfare, etc.

I understand politics as a contact sport. I merely had the idealistic (maybe naive) hope that the contact would come with the enemy, not with our friends.

I was fine with Trump’s campaigning and a I was fine with him as a second choice. I said that.

Now, I don’t think I’d vote for him at all. I think all his rabid supporters are in for a very rude surprise if he actually wins the election.

Oh come on. Four years ago Mitt went on a rampage in FL to take Newt out that was shameful. Too bad he was too gutless to go after OMuslim the same way.

There is only one position open for GOP nominee so either Trump takes out Teddy or vice versa.

Please send me the link where Mitt Romney said Gingrich was a “nasty guy” who no one liked or anything even close to it. I won’t be holding my breath waiting.

Accept it: Donald Trump campaigns like a Democrat fighting a Republican. No rules. No limits. Win at all costs.

If he was doing it against Hillary, I wouldn’t mind at all because he’d be fighting fire with fire. Doing it to a fellow Republican is beyond the pale.

Well cheer up because in a few months Trump will be doing it to Hillary and you will be cheering him on.

If the current dust-ups are putting you off Trump, you never really understood whats going on anyway.

Anyone who has to resort to the tactics Trump is using nad has to destroy one of the best conservative politicians we’ve seen in decades cannot be relied upon to do anything you expect him to do. Likewise, remember what you asked for when he is using the same slash-and-burn tactics to get things you don’t like. Do you know what kind of judges he’d appoint? Can you be sure he won’t revert to his very pro-choice stance? Do you seriously think he will fight to protect religious liberties the way a President Cruz will?

But I am sure all the conservatives putting faith in Trump will never be disappointed. That’s a hopeless dream. Cruz has walked the walk time and again. Huckabee and Cruz have literally nothing in common. Huck is a big government guy. The attacks on the board for the single largest driver of the conservative movement in Washington for the past four years is sick and it’s embarrassing. Supporting someone else is fine. The anger and vitriol towards our biggest champion is pathetic.

Cruz did not go after anyone’s mom during the debate. He mentioned Trump’s mother only to make a point of how ridiculous some of the legal theories being espoused by Trump’s supporters are. Mischaracterizing what Cruz said as being an attack on Trump’s mom is just another dishonest liberal attack on Cruz.

Cruz was pointing out that under some birther theories, Trump would not be a NBC because his mother was born in Scotland. Trump is the one who started this birther crap.

You did not hear Cruz say, I am a natural born citizen of the United States... The Constitution is not on His side... Cruz lost any ground to question others values. He claims adherence to “original intent” of the Constitution but exempts himself... I might still be conned by him if he had not mentioned trump’s mom!
