The fracas between the Republican presidential front-runners escalated Sunday as Donald Trump went after Ted Cruz's likability, calling him a "nasty guy."
"Nobody likes him, nobody in Congress likes him, nobody likes him anywhere once they get to know him," Trump said in an interview airing on ABC's "This Week."
After weeks of circling each other, the gloves came off between Cruz and Trump in Thursday's debate, as Trump questioned Cruz's birthright citizenship and Cruz attacked Trump's "New York values."

I won't dispute your point if you add a couple of words to your statement, some and Trump. If you have been unable to discern the lack of civility by some on both sides of the Trump/Cruz issue, well........................
Nope, theirs is Neanderthal logic: “Cruz bad. Trump good. Zug zug!”
...a celebrity in a pissing match with Rosie OâDonnell...
At some point he needs to stop or he has zero chance of election. Act like a president or go back to TV celebrity. As I said it was effective early to establish himself and dump on the weak establishment losers. I and many said at the time, he has to morph into a controlled disciplined communicator or he has no chance. What this is going to is alienate a large number of voters he needs. He started down this path a month ago and wisely backed off at the December debate. Now, he’s doubling down on stupid and he’s going to wound himself so bad that he’ll lose SC and FL and spiral downward, or he’ll survive and get trounced in the general when he has pissed on everyone. He was wise to attack the DC political class. He’s growing towards narcissistic behavior now. Somehow many here who detest that aspect of Obama welcome a new narcissist who they agree with on a few issues.
Your allegation that Cruz engaged in creepy activities at college was debunked here, by RCP, no less.
Cruz will respond with good humor and substantive attacks of his own. If Trump persists, Cruz may even challenge Trump's manhood by proposing a series of real one-on-one debates, which would be Trump's worst nightmare.
I don’t have any problem at all with the way Cruz speaks. He doesn’t talk down to people like they are idiots.
He might have millions of friends, but Trump has more. And DJT supporters come from all places.
As I said, this is about winning and losing. Trump intends to win. Will he? I don’t know.
But here is what I know: Cruz will be nothing but a potted plant, because he is utterly friendless in gov’t. So you can forget about rolling back any Obama-isms.
Trump, on the other hand, will roll into office and start flipping over the furniture.
And I always wondered how it would look to see a coffee table fly across the room!
Take me of the ping list of this pitiful candidate please.
GO TRUMP!
“I want to see some consistency, some indication the guy REALLY believes something, and Trump is all over the board.”
I’ve watched virtually every Trump speech. He is not “all over the board.” He’s been very consistent. The only issue he seems to have changed on is how much he thinks Cruz’s citizenship is going to be an issue, and that seems to be because he got advance information that the RATS were going to take Cruz to court and make an issue out of it.
Trump is a worthless POS. I wouldn’t waste the effort pissing on him.
That didn’t debunk anything.
“I donât have any problem at all with the way Cruz speaks. He doesnât talk down to people like they are idiots.”
That’s great except half the country hears a weasel lawyer talking in circles and has no idea what he believes. Those people vote.
Reagan did not do that. Just read any of his hundreds of commentaries on radio (see Reagan in his own hand) and you will understand that speaking the language of the people is not talking down to them.
Anyone can make something difficult to understand. It is a skill to make difficult things easy to understand.
Ted consistently fails to connect - even when he tries to imitate Reagan.
Trump definitely won’t take the bait. Childish or not, he’s using the strategy because it has been working.
Thanks for that. I genuinely appreciate having some precision on where disagreements lie. This disagreement isn’t important to me, at all. It’s in Trump’s hands. He’s a big boy.
Trump has echoes of Jackson in him.
This is true. Even so, I want someone who is “a heartbeat away from the Presidency” to line up with conservative principles, same as his/her boss.
Yes, we need to fill important and powerful positions with conservatives...and that includes the VP slot.
The more I read pro-Cruz posts, the more I suspect you people are co-ordinated Trolls.
Today, the talking points seem to be “I was a Trump supporter, but reluctantly must re-think that since [fill in anything Trump has said about Cruz that you wish].”
I’m a Cruz supporter but I was always ok with Trump if he won the nomination. But his schoolyard third grade bully style is just too much. I thought it was just an act, but it looks like that is all there is in that man.
