There are still places where you can buy small side arms and rifles in Europe?
I had thought every country besides Switzerland had outlawed the possession of personal weapons.
In Switzerland, where every able-bodied Swiss male citizen is a member of the Swiss Army Reserve, it is legally REQUIRED that every citizen household have an operating weapon and ample ammunition on hand and easily available. Non-citizen households have to jump through a long series of hoops to purchase or possess any weaponry.
Nobody screws around with the Swiss. Not even Hitler or Mussolini during the Second World War, and certainly not the Islamic invaders.
I remember an account of German Generals discussing an invasion of Switzerland with Hitler. They speculated as to how big was the Swiss Army. Hitler said something to the effect:
"Switzerland doesn't have an army. Switzerland is an Army."
Oh, you'd LIKE Finland!
Note that Finland's five million people own four million personal firearms. Just wait till Congressman [now New York senator] Schumer finds out about that! - the late Colonel Jeff Cooper, in his Gunsite Gargantuan Gossip
They tried an anti-gun disarmament election in Switzerland a couple of years back. Epic fail.
Weapons control for gangsters? Disarming initiative NO!
But Switzerland is having their problems with the invasion as well. Just not to as large a degree. And they have real Leadership in Switzerland.
