When is the national primary?
Woo Hoo! GO TRUMP!!
Everyone knows the national primary is on February 31, 2016.
Nearly every night it happens on TV - usually at 7pm est but sometimes at 7pm cst. Unless you’re willingly blind, of course.
That’s a fair point, but Trump looks very good in almost every state poll so far too.
Better than expected in Iowa.
Killing it in NH, NC and Georgia.
Trump doing that well in the South is shocking.
Here is a system I think will work:
Have three national (consisting of 50 separate state contests) primaries.
Have the first set of primaries the end of January. This will be intended to weed out the fringe candidates. In each state contest, a candidate needs at least 10 per cent of the vote to move on.
Have a second set of primaries the end of March. In this case, you will need 20 per cent of the vote in any given state to move on (for that state). This will determine the run-off in the final round.
Have a third and final set of primaries in June. Use the results to apportion delegates in each state on a proportional basis. The candidates will then take those delegates to the national convention.
Sounds a little complicated but it's still simpler than trying to explain how the Iowa Caucus works.
Maybe even have just two sets of primaries.
Trump is ahead in TEXAS! Put that in your pipe and smoke it!
Wasn’t there just a story posted where Cruz was bragging that he was the only guy “beating” Hillary?
That is NOT what this Real Clear Politics RCP Average poll says from today:
Poll Date Clinton (D) Trump (R) Spread
RCP Average 12/16 - 1/7 44.6 42.6 Clinton +2.0

It’s state-by-state, I believe. This link gives some info:
