Garry Truedouche kind of cured me of cartoons - they put Douchebury on the front page of our local comix.
I meant to write in my last post:
Well, even though I'm one of the drooling, low-IQ "Trumpkins" [I prefer Trumpswab], I'll still vote for Cruz if he's the nominee. :)
So you are “us.”
Interesting.
So you are “them.”
Interesting.
There's a pill for that, you know:
trump represents the final nail in the coffin.
Re "Doucheberry", there was a site I was posting from that parodied him...haven't seen anything new lately though. Here's an old one...
I'm definitely for Cruz, but will vote for the Republican nominee in the general (as I did when I held my nose for McCain [go Sarah!] & Romney...)
I think it is more likely that he will become a crony capitalist tyrant.
But I suspect he will always have his FR cheering section no matter how outrageously he acts.
How much are you willing to wager on that?
No panty waist repubs wanted. We went threw Dole, McCain, Romney.
We are done with the soft peddle "can't we just get along" philosophy of the repub country clubers.
It's certainly a qualifier, if we could only have a hint that he might fear God.
I like Trump. He is the gigantic gong in God's historical orchestra.
His references to God are painfully parochial. He thinks his Presbyterian church is the big cheese and has some kind of respectful regard for taking communion there, which they do with crackers and he even called them that.
His controversial comment about forgiveness was not that he saw no need, but that he tried not to need it. That might be a reaction against the idea of cheap grace.
We do have a bible hint: to fear the Lord is to “hate all evil.” Does Trump look like he is trying to head down the “hate all evil” road? It sure looks like a good possibility.
Theologians sometimes speak of “prevenient grace.” The grace that God applies to a life destined to believe. Awareness of issues that will come to bear later in a life of faith is one of these graces. Trump might be elect. We can certainly pray for God to cause it to show, if it is true.
Actually, no, I didnt. McCain was far from my first choice, but I remembered him from his early days in office when he was much farther right. So, I had residual hope that he might return to past days.
Romney was my absolute last choice in 2012 (shows you how good I am at picking these guys, lol), but I tried to suspend disbelief as well as I could.
But after 2012, I promised myself I’d never vote for a liberal again. Just not gonna do it. Eff trump. He’s a worse option than hitlery. At least, hitlery is dumb as a rock. She’ll fumble around for four years or Bill will take over. And his instincts are more middle of the road. He’s left of center. He’s to the right of hitlery. And he’s way to the right of the communist kenyan anti-christ usurper who is in there now.
trump, on the other hand, though he is ignorant, untutored in many things, and slow on the pickup in key areas, he’s much smarter than hitlery (that’s not saying much), and in my view, he would find it hard not to use the precedents pioneered by his immediate predecessor and expand on them, accretion much power to the executive. In my opinion, it is likely that he will become an authoritarian , and that will be the end of the Republic. With a good dose of crony capitalism mixed in.
Fox. Henhouse.
What has happened?
God isn’t going to hold you to a promise to yourself.
BRASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSH
OMG, you brought up Dole. I thought until now that was all a stupid Nightmare where this old GOP Reagan Hating buffoon with a erection was running for President. Damned man. You went and ruined a perfectly good thread.
More proof that where the GOPe is concerned, loyalty oaths are a one-way street.
I will.
