We are simpatico. And, to be sure, the context of the Constitution includes the "general Welfare" of the "People" - not foreign interests or corporations. What's your take on the effective operability of a "republic" with a Commerce Clause that lets the federal government assume control everyone's health care via "single payer"?

The recent interpretations of the Commerce Clause are major ingredients in the death of the Republic. We live in a nation-state now, beyond the pale of delegated governance. And no one cares.
