Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) means business when it comes to being on time for House votes.
Tardiness has long been a largely unenforced problem when it comes to voting. Last week, Ryan chastised colleagues for being late, saying that "voting within the allotted time would help with the maintenance of the institution."
He abruptly ordered Wednesday's vote be closed after the allotted 15 minutes on legislation to prevent the Obama administration from lifting sanctions on Iranian entities unless it certifies they aren't involved with terrorism or the country's ballistic missile program.
As a result, more than 130 lawmakers missed the vote, which was gaveled down when the tally hit 191-106. The tally was vacated because an insufficient number of members voted.

don't want to piss off his real boss, does he?
Bull crap....this was likely all planned by the LIAR Paul Ryan and his ‘RAT/RINO comrades.
Bambi’s new BFF
Mission Accomplished!
Atta Boy Ryan!
Awwwwwwwwww How Nice the Show Pony is prancing for the man with the sugar cube.
Paul Ryan is a disgusting two faced Fraud! Meet Nancy Pelosi’s new bitch.
Rollcall:
“Republicans will get another chance to vote on this measure. McCarthy asked unanimous consent that the vote be vacated, and that the chamber would vote again on Jan. 26”
No record is kept of a vacated vote.
As long as it’s done with consistency, which it won’t, I have no problem. There’s a clear time limit for votes.
Well at least under Ryan the trains will run on time. :-)
So he had a vote, and showed he meant business.
But the vote didnt count, so its meaningless.
This useless fiasco is a perfect example of why we need Big Giv out of our lives.
Even though, it shows us how these entitled minions are, they just saunter in any time they want and expect people are going to wait. Say, when we’re late to work in most cases people can get docked pay. In a lot of cases if its habitual people get run off. So, maybe Ryan is getting tire of people coming in as if they’re a part time employee. They loose their vote, we get fucked in some cases!
I fully agree that the voting should only be done in the allotted time. There’s no reason we should be letting people meander in whenever they want to vote.
However, I fully see him picking and choosing when to enforce this and when not to.
I support him on this issue. Follow the rules.
Actually. real conservatives get f*cked in EVERY case by spineless servants of Wall Street and K Street like Ryan-o.
Exactly.
I support him on this issue. Follow the rules.

Agree. I occasionally watch CSPAN during voting in both Senate and House. ....I’ve never understood why the clerk (or whatever they’re called) continues to call out names to get their votes in AFTER the allotted time as expired.
I understand vacating the vote when not enough people show up during the voting period. ....However, the names of those who DID NOT show up should be placed in the record so their constituents can see they are not doing their jobs.
I want to know what an unenforced problem is.
