And did you note that weird fake laughter of his? It's crazy! And he even ends with a "God bless," after his wimpy little "values" attack. I do not know what kind of supporter would tolerate this behavior.

Like a lot of people here on FR and elsewhere, I just couldn't figure Cruz out for the longest time. I knew something wasn't quite right, but it continued to elude me. I finally figured it out, he is one of those "it depends on what the meaning of is is" people. He's a lawyer inside and out and adroitly uses words to camouflage, obfuscate or downright mislead. Overrehearsed and hollow. I guess we all should be thankful at least he chose the Constitution to major in.

Don't worry...I married a gorgeous woman.

As did a lot of us. But we didn't do it every couple of years. Opps, that was catty of me, except I don't believe in asking for forgiveness.

Nobody in the media gives two sh!ts about flyover country until there’s a national election. Then they try to use their own values to smear the front runner?

This has to be a first.

Cruz tweaked the media as much as he did Trump. What I like about Trump is he leaves no doubt about where he stands. With Cruz you have to hold his words up to the light and even then you seldom know what he's really thinking. Tarry not, February One.

I see the moderators do not agree with you.

Yeah, I knew it was just a matter of time but I figured I'd go for it. :)

‘aboot’ was not a misspell, but intentional.

Desperate indeed, next will he question his citizenship?

“Did any liberals give money to Cruz?” NO......

Isn’t “gay Conservative” an oxymoron?

Thanks! Yep, a man, HETERosexual, too, all my life and I wouldn't have it any other way, but you just made my face turn as red as it did in high school.

Of all the things to not out grow...how embarrassing.

“Trump is a populist. Now that we are down to our favored two, it is proper for the conservative to point out the record of the populist. That’s merely fair.”

Populist: A member or adherent to a political party who seeks to represent the interests of ordinary people.

Conservative: One who adheres to traditional values and views.

As will be proven, neither man is a strict Conservative in their political practices. One can say anything. It’s what one stands for, both in private and in public that constitutes one’s real beliefs.

Populism is unconstrained by ideology. It can be conservative today, liberal tomorrow, and back again.

Aren’t you confusing “populism” with legalese and politi-speak. Don’t answer just yet. Wait a few weeks and see if your “Conservative” doesn’t change according to the political winds. I’ve already seen it. I have no problem with Cruz identifying as a Conservative. I wish with all my heart that there could be a strong Conservative in the Whitehouse. No such entity exists in this age. If there were any, we wouldn’t have gotten to this point by “going along to get along.” Neither Cruz nor Trump can do what you or I as Conservatives would like them to do. Trump is the stronger of the two. He can get more protection for Conservatives to live as they want. He can’t turn this nation into a Conservative one and neither can Cruz.

Now YOU have nailed the take away, here.

Cruz deflects. Cruz declines to answer. And, Cruz reportedly, “swivels”, throughout.

Not a portrayal of confidence, but one of trying to salvaging a short lived “peak”, in his Iowa polling.

Unless Cruz can replace his news cycle with something big and beautiful, this avalanche will bury him. He is not TRUMP.

TRUMP benefits from being authentically himself, from being an outsider, running an error free campaign, succeeding at probing the vulnerabilities of opponents, and then standing back to let other competing forces finish to a conclusion.

TRUMP is the “brilliant” one, and everyone can see it for themselves, in LIVE action.

I do not know what kind of supporter would tolerate this behavior.

Good question. Here's my answer.

The DESPERATE supporter will tolerate just about ANYTHING!

"Trump's New York values." I wonder how that will play in the south.

Excellent summation of the grifter's values. Keep repeating it Ted. Very instructive and effective.

A true Conservative would have made it his business to be there front and center, would he not? My problem isn’t with what Cruz says. It’s what he does and doesn’t do so strategically.

Cruz replies: "The rest of the country knows what New York values are, and they aren't Iowa values and they aren't New Hampshire values."

Lawyerly. "When did you stop beating your wife?"

He’s a great marketer and entertainer. He’s winging it. He doesn’t have a plan for his campaign let alone a plan for fixing the country.

He’s got the sales speak going tho.
