The mayor of Harrisburg, Penn., ordered his police department on Friday not to provide security for an upcoming NRA-sponsored gun show after the association refused to meet a demand to pay a 60-percent increase in fees for the service.
Harrisburg police have provided security for the annual Great American Outdoors Show, scheduled this year for February 6-14, in the past. Mayor Eric Papenfuse said that the decision not to offer the departmentâs services this year was motivated in part by the NRAâs opposition to the cityâs gun control policies.
âWe have an epidemic of gun violence,â Papenfuse told WHTM. âItâs no secret that the NRA has worked against the cityâs interests repeatedly over the past year causing us to spend tens of thousands of dollars to defend common sense gun ordinances. We donât need to be doing them any favors.â

Harrisburg is a sanctuary city and heavy populated by Obama’s people.
The mayor should be concerned about criminal violence and less the behavior of inanimate objects.
The foof should be paying the NRA to come to the city. It is dying.
Montgomery, AL, is one of the few with a GOP Mayor, although the city is majority Black and the county as a whole usually votes Democrat.
Sadly, most state capitols have not elected GOP Mayors in years. I live in one (Nashville), and we haven’t elected a GOP Mayor in 130 years (since Grover Cleveland’s 1st term). It is utterly at odds with the heavily GOP state and state government with a barking moonbat ultraleftist Mayor and Council.
Always, at least since the early 90’s, a good show. Never use to see any uniformed cops there. Screw the commie POS!
Maybe Elizabethtown or Hershey?
This is Democrat chest beating crap for fund raiser letters to wealthy liberal morons.
He looks like a QUEER.
Am I right?
As was said in Deliverance, “he sure got a pretty mouth”.
