Living in Brooklyn i did read about this yesterday. The surveillance pictures sure looked like they were young but the father described them as in their 30’s. So he ran from 14 and 15 year olds because they pointed a gun at him. As i said in the other thread they would have to kill me first.
Yo Brooklyn here. I don’t think people here realize how diverse the boroughs are.
Father was drinking beer with his daughter in the park. At night. In Brownsville. Talk about high risk behavior.
Do we know the race of the victim?
If she was white this should have additional hate crime charges brought, possibly in Federal Court after the State of NY has found them guilty.
Under Obama's inJUstice Department that's a dream. Under Trump, a real possibility.
doubtful about the victims considering out drinking beer in the park in that neighborhood.
VERY, right?
SI has its good side, it’s bad side, and its in between side.
Midland avenue near the water is a tough neighborhood now. Still white ethnic, lots of drugs, theft, it’s bad.
South shore is mostly Italian/irish, the best neighborhood but lots of drugs now!! and mafia lives on, though these new kids aren’t too bright. one got caught selling machine guns out of his barber shop.
Brooklyn has Bay Ridge and many other nice areas
it’s also home to some of the toughest neighborhoods there are
very diverse
Mateo Gomez, an attendant at Laida Deli, said that the footage came from his shop and that he recognized the suspects as young men who came to the store most afternoons, sometimes stealing cakes and other snacks.
âTheyâre bad boys,â he said, shaking his head.
I border Bay Ridge. Gravesend.
Nice.
I grew up on Carroll Street. 3 story building with grandparents, parents and us :)
three generations. Moved to Staten Island early.
Remember Umcle Sonny reading the Sunday News on Saturday night :)
big treat was coke in a bottle!
good times.
Grandmother had four thousand crucifixes and 300 pictures of Saints :) Used to pray to all of them every night. If you got stuck in the room next to her, you heard prayers till 1am lol.
I’m lower east side born and bred. Brooklyn happened when i married.
Don’t know much about lower east side back in the day.
how was it?
It's Brooklyn. Like NYC, it is know for rudeness and cold nature. And for horrible collection of street people, scamming convenience store clerks and filling station attendants. Sane people are afraid of this. They get to the point they believe nobody. I'd hate to live in a mess like that. Let me continue to live in flyover country.
Grisham was on to something in “A Time To Kill”....
What father leaves his daughter regardless?
My guess is that the father probably would not be able to get a permit even if New York was a must issue state. Who takes their 18 year old daughter to a playground to drink beer? I am guessing there is a troubled past all around here.
Change “buy” to “import” and I suspect you’ll catch my drift.
