Born on US soil. Birthright citizenship. They become citizens automatically. No naturalization. Cruz became a Canadian citizen the same way. If you read the Tribe/Olson opinion on McCain, you will see that they gratuitously mentioned that Obama was a natural born citizen eligible to be President because he was born in Hawaii, jus solis.
