Writing in mid-June, a couple of days after Donald Trump announced his candidacy, we offered the judgment that he should not be our next president: âWe're not Trump enthusiasts. We're not even Trump fellow travelers. We're closer to Trump deriders."
And so we unapologetically remain. It would be ungracious not to acknowledge Trump's remarkable standing in the polls six months later. But we see no reason to alter our conclusion that Donald Trump shouldn't be president of the United States. Indeed, Trump's behavior over this period has confirmed our judgment. If back in June we wrote that the rest of the presidential field could use "A Little Touch of Trump," it's fair to say that we've gotten more Trump than we bargained for.
Yet we continue to trust Republican primary voters will not select Donald Trump as the GOP nominee for president. And we continue to believe, as we said at the outset, that more conventional politicians could learn something from Trump. We suggested then that "politics is about dreams as much as it is about deliverables, about pride as much as it's about pocketbooks. Trump understands that. It's not clear most of the rest of the field does." We pointed out then that "Trump understands that many Americans believe winning isn't everything, but it's a good thing. A very good thing. It's not clear most of the rest of the field does." We observed then that "Trump understands that Americans have deep doubts about the competence and probity of our political class. It's not clear most of the rest of the field does." And we wrote then that "Trump understands that it's okay to say something the media elite will shake their collective head at. It's not clear most of the rest of the field does."
He may be like one forty year old I know who was in a terrible wreck about twenty years ago. You can still see that his skull has been shattered and did not rejoin perfectly but you would never know in any other way that he was given up by the doctors. He could not possibly live but he is still walking around and doing things that many twenty year old youths in perfect health can’t do. Trump has been written off as terminal time after time in this race but he still leads.
Blah blah blah...
Look, I’d tell you to go hang out on Cruz threads, except for the fact that not a single Cruz thread is about how Cruz is a good candidate but instead a stream of hate against Trump.
You know how they say you can’t beat something with nothing? Well, you’re treating Cruz as if he’s nothing. No wonder he’s losing.
BAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWW
Even George W Bush will eventually support Trump.
Have a feeling another outsider would be rooting for President Trump.
Still think Trump Cruz would be a dream ticket, However, Trump is able to swat the liberal media and Clintons like no one has ever done before, including Cruz.
Trump is authentic and brilliant. No wonder the Clintons are worried. Especially now that Bill Cosby's accusers are getting their say in the public forum. Think of all the women Bill Clinton has abused and those same women may now feel they are able to come forward with the truth. The Clintons were free to intimate his victims in the past via mob style intimidation.
And the biggest bombshell, deal breaker, is that HILLARY CLINTON went after the women Bill Clinton abused in order to stay in power and hopefully she will exit stage left soon and old Joe Biden will have to run. No way can Hillary Clinton make it into February after trashing women her husband sexually molested now that Bill Cosbys victims have found their voice and Cosby was finally exposed after all these years. Hillary thinks that by hiring Lena Dunham . not really hiring as Dunham is not getting paid. she will be able to be so cool and untouchable that the media will not cover Bill Clintons rape charges or that will cover any story that Hillary went after the victims.
That "media elite" includes you, Billy.
I agree with your photos and comments E20erer.
You see it pretty much like I do concerning the issues you touched on. Thanks for the note.
