Responding to an audience member, Cruz said there are still unanswered questions about what the former secretary of state knew about the attacks, which killed the U.S. ambassador to Libya and three other Americans.
“Was Secretary Clinton awake or asleep when four Americans were being murdered? We don’t know to this day," Cruz said before bringing up an email Clinton wrote to her daughter on the same day as the attacks. "We do know that Hillary told her daughter Chelsea, ‘Well, gosh, I knew it was a terrorist attack when we were out telling the American people it wasn’t.'"
"You know, I’ll tell you, in my house, if my daughter Catherine, the five-year-old, says something she knows to be false, she gets a spanking," Cruz added. "Well, in America the voters have a way of administering a spanking, and I can tell you this: As president ... there will be accountability for Benghazi."
Clinton has taken responsibility for security lapses at the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, though Republicans continue to question whether she is being forthcoming about how the attacks transpired.
Cruz made the comment during a town hall in Charles City, one of six Iowa stops he was scheduled to make Friday.
I have no interest in reading about Cruz's kinky fantasies.
I will now now call him a wuss and unpresidential. He just clinched the deal with me.
As usual, ignorant Trumpsters come on a thread about Cruz and show off their ignorance.
The whole idea of the “spanking” comment relates to Accountability. His 5 year daughter is held accountable if she tells a falsehood. There is a system in place to protect the American public by means of accountability. Hillary Clinton lied in her official capacity as Secretary of State, and people died as a result. Cruz doesn’t let his daughter slide with lies without being held accountable for them and he won’t let Clinton get away with it either.
But let’s forget the point and just harp on the headline that makes it absurdly look like Cruz wants to give Hillary a literal spanking.
That is funny. It just might drive LibbyLu over the edge that appears to be only inches away.

If you read the story Cruz’s response was totally appropriate.
When you appear to be criticizing for the sake of criticizing alone you lose credibility.
Great now the liberals will accuse Cruz of child abuse.
He should have said Hillary needs to be held accountable. Cruz should know the media. They will make fun of him. Why did he give them ammo. The late night shows, SNL, it was a mistake.
Why can’t Cruz just say she deserves to be in prison?

I read the whole thing, thank you. It contains this nugget:

That is after he described how he spanked his little daughter for cause. Kids should be spanked.
But using that language in the same breath after saying “Hillary”? It makes me shudder.

SNL writers are thanking their lucky stars — it dropped right into their laps.
They still spank in places like Iowa and Indiana!
Bad move, Cruz. Child Protective Services will be at your door any minute. And you’re going to have to explain to a bunch outside of Iowa about corporal punishment.
