Now I know what those things at the Buddhist Temple down the street from my house are! I thought they were just pretty decorations. I always wondered why the looked like old time wagon wheels.

Being a Air Force town, we have a fairly large Asian population. Plus we had a Vietnamese refugee center here back in the late 70’s and many of them stayed in this area. My neighbor’s wife is Korean, and we have many Thai and Filipinos as well. In the summertime the Buddhist Temple has a combination Fresh Market and garage sale every Saturday where you can go buy homegrown veggies and various sundry goods that people sell in support of the monks who live at the temple. I see them at the Sam’s from time to time in their yellow robes shopping for groceries.................

Some of the monks are pretty cool. If you see some, strike up a conversation.

My wife and I are going to visit a Laotian Buddhist temple later this month when we go to the cemetery - 11 year anniversary of our son’s death. Feed the monk(s), get a little good Karma for the return trip.
