Team Obama Joins Donald Trump’s Attack On Ted Cruz’s Citizenship
Breitbart ^

Posted on 01/06/2016 12:14:41 PM PST by springwater13

During the White House press briefing this afternoon, one reporter explained the fight between Cruz and Trump and asked if the president was enjoying the drama around Cruz's citizenship.

"I don't know if he does, but I sure do," Earnest quipped as reporters chuckled in response.

Earnest then seemed willing to feed the narrative questioning Cruz's citizenship.

"It would be quite ironic if after 7 or 8 years of drama around the president’s birth certificate if Republican primary voters were to choose Senator Cruz as their nominee," he said. "Somebody who actually wasn’t born in the United States and only 15 months ago renounced his Canadian citizenship."

That would be wild if they did.

The Obama administration already knows something about Cruz since they do have access to federal records whether it strengthens their case or weakens it.

My usual position is tell the truth & shame the devil. Cruz would have needed to document his citizenship status to get his passport, ss card etc. The documentation exists and he could lay this to rest by being straightforward. He is a deep strategist and may be planning to let the opposition dig a hole for themselves and catch them wrong footed by having proof of citizenship at birth. We will have to wait and see.

Trump and Cruz should work together on Trump filing a lawsuit challenging Cruz's eligibility...

So you want Cruz to sue himself claiming he's Constitutionally ineligible to be president? Well...I suppose he would have standing. </sarcasm>

"it's been cleared up to everyone but morons."

You honestly believe the Dems wouldn't make an issue of this if Ted became the nominee?

This is fair game for Trump and a wise move on his part.

If Cruz is the nominee, the Dims will use this issue with FORCE.

Because after all it worked so well against Obama. </sarcasm>

Glad I’m not the only one here thinking like this. If they do sue Cruz, it will be interesting how judges are going to judge based on the fact they let Obongo set precedent.

This will be a huge mistake if they take this road.

If you are from a scientific background as you say....then you should be asking “why” and not just “what” and so on. For example, do you know WHY the NBC clause is even included in the Founding Docs?

When you ask and answer that question, you’ll have your answer.

Rubio and Cruz both have family history issues. Ted’s father is a odd one. He shows up in Texas. The college provides a social security card for him and he works while on a visa as a student. Very shady. Students had to have money and couldn’t work usually when under such conditions on having a student visa. This will come out more and more.

Cruz doesn’t need to prove anything. Better to take the high road and let someone try and prove he’s ineligible. Giving in and responding to this crack-pot charge will only leave him open for even crazier charges which he will then be expected to prove wrong.

I have read extensively on this issue because I really hoped we could avoid Obama. Rather than attacking my understanding why not ask why you need to settle this without having the facts.

Obama is black and had more than enough cover as a protected class, more-so than a white female....Cruz the Republican will be afforded no such status.

On issues such as this Dims play hard and dirty.

The Democrats don't need to do anything on this. They have Trump.

Maybe you are right. Its certainly the path Obama took and it worked for him. Cruz certainly has the grit to take that road.

Dude, it is settled - your pathetic attempt to “settle it” in the minds that have decided they are NEVER going to be settled is just a farce.

And I notice you couldn’t address why the Founders put it in....which is important, because their INTENT is far far far more scientifically specific than their definition.

Try that Mr. Wizard.

Trump has not attacked Ted Cruz. All he said was, he didn’t know if the attacks an Ted Cruz’s citizenship held any water.

And the front runner making a statement like this is just out of benevolence 8^ )

Ha Ha Ha, my best laugh of the day. In the past 8 years, and even before Obama, essays & multiple legal opinions about this topic have been written, including case law in the years after the Constitution was written.

There is laborious documentation attempting to tease the purpose and thought process of the Founders based on their correspondence with context including the laws of other Nations at the time and historically but because I won’t regurgitate it to you I don’t know.
Faugh.
