Oh it is a problem because the educators in this country say you have to go to college, you need a degree. We need to inform young people when in their first or second year of HS what is available out there as far as jobs are concerned, what skills they need and allow these kids to train and use tools in shop classes. You can’t teach kids that today because of laws that won’t allow them to handle a grinder, saws,cutting torches etc. Hell ya gotta be 18 in most states just to run a deep fryer at mickey d’s. If we could teach these kids the fundamentals of skilled trade and how they are applied, they could be working as 1st class helpers right out of high school. By the sophomore years kids know if they are going to college or not and if they know they aren’t , many give up on school and go to the streets. We need to teach them how to be a skilled worker with a trade when they are still reachable.
