Watch the video on the Brietbart link (in my post). You'll see the camera on those Cathedral stairs pan the crowd going up and down those stair onto and off-of the plaza.

You'll also see @ time 0:52-1.01 the camera pan to show those stairs from the plaza connecting directly to the front of the Cathedral - with the same Cathedral lights and arched doors and windows (@ 1:00 mark) as in the 2nd photo in my post.

Years ago there was a door you could use to get in and out on that side. Not sure that it is still available for use. I’ve seen it locked off, but I’m not sure if that was a temporary thing. There also used to be a row of tourist trap shops along the side between the steps and the cathedral. Again, not sure if they are still there.
